Morrisons Burton Upon Trent Cafe

Ok, I will say that there is not many places you can eat as a family of 4 (2 young ones) and it comes to around £17. I cannot fault them for price and also I cannot fault the staff, they are nice, professional but always working hard. The food, relative to the price is extremely good however I think that if they do offer something they should be able to prepare it properly. Sometimes the kids order peas and they get beans. I sometimes take a chance ordering poached eggs for example and I have never had one that doesn't seem hard boiled. Black pudding needs to be cooked on a hotter surface to produce a sear and bacon needs to be more crispy. I don't know anyone who likes elasticated bacon fat, and as much as it might sound like I'm bashing the place, these things are only mildly infuriating, I will always return. The cafe really helps us out with its price point, it allows us to have a small breather, get a change of scenery for my family and I and not have to worry about cleaning up after.

Quite a nice cafe with a fairly prompt service. Food is generally good but can be a bit hit and miss on quality depending on staff present. I've had beautiful scrambled egg one day and next one that was microwaved to death. I had steak pie one day that was rock solid. Saying that the price is good. Just got to check who's cooking to be sure of the quality. Shame really
