My wife and I have been going to Maison Bleue for over 20 years. Karine is a warm and gracious hostess. The staff are always very polite, cordial and professional. The food is superb from start to finish. We have never had a bad experience at Maison Bleue; it is our restaurant of choice.

Will not be going back, food was ok but not as I expected, restaurant was cold, got wrong coffees but just wanted to get out so didn’t bother to complain

Had lunch today at this excellent restaurant. every aspect was outstanding. Food in all three courses was brilliant and precisely cooked, flavours were natural and beautifully thought out and combined. Staff were top class, excellently trained, friendly and professional. Wine list was very well selected and explained. I cannot fault the whole set up. Will definitely return. A French oasis in Suffolk that was a joy to visit.

Without much advance planning, I rang and asked if there was a table for dinner only a few days before we wanted, It was great to be told that it was possible, so we arrived full of expectations and healthy appetite - and were not disappointed. Carefully and thoughtfully guided to our table, after a mouth-watering saunter through the wine list, we opted for a trip down memory lane with an Italian red (Primitivo) which narrowed down the tempting menu where the venison was a real delight. Our appetisers and mains were delicious and almost enough to discourage us from desserts, but the cheese board was extraordinarily good and came with a story and a 'guided tour'. It's not fair to single out the cheese board because everything else was excellent, but it is rare that the cheese course stands out in the way that it did for us. We sauntered home in a pleasantly comfortable manner, and will be back again soon!

There is a reason why the intimate Mason Bleue Restaurant tucked away in a side street in Bury St Edmunds continues to attract rave reviews; quite simply it delivers some of the very best food you’ll find anywhere. Pascal and Karine run a tight ship combining a warm and welcoming front of house with a slick attentive service from a team of young French waiting staff and then the food itself: inventive, versatile, beautifully presented, packed with flavour and of course utterly delicious. I hadn’t been for a while - it’s a special occasion place after all - but was lucky enough to accompany my husband on a work outing last week. We were a very large party and could not have been better looked after. To deliver that level of fine dining to so many of us simultaneously is exceptional. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening. We can’t wait to return.

Went for the three course lunch set menu there and I would highly recommend, especially at the price point. Service was wonderful, staff were attentive without being invasive. Food was wonderful as well, possibly one of the better restaurants I've been to that hasn't got a Michelin star. Definitely will have to go back again.

I was travelling from Kent to Bury for work and did a solo trip to Maison Bleue for dinner. It was superb. It struck the right balance between technical finesse and goddamn tasty, which in my view some chefs overlook. The wine (by the glass as I was solo) was well priced and interesting. I really rate this place and will find an excuse to pass through Bury again to re-visit. Well done to the team.

We had the most amazing set menu lunch at this restaurant today, we were there to celebrate my partners birthday. The food was totally delicious and the staff friendly and attentive as usual. this is our favourite place to eat.

Had an excellent dinner at Maison Bleue. We were greeted well and shown to our table. The restaurant has a nice ambience and appropriate level of lighting. The starters (scallops and beef cheek) were both excellent. As was one of the main courses (Cod) but the Goose was disappointing with the meat being tough and the rest of the dish a bit bland. The desserts (chocolate and one other) were both very good mind. The meal overall still merited a five star rating despite the disappointing goose course. There is also an extensive wine list but I was pleased to see a reasonable house Bordeaux available for £27 a bottle. Overall an enjoyable dinner; recommended.

I was taken to lunch at Maison Bleue for a birthday treat-and it really was. Good selection on all three courses plus taster of soup and dessert. Staff were pleasant and attentive, clearing unwanted cutlery and glass ware. No intrusive background music, my only negative comment is that you had to fold yourself to fit in the ladies' toilet. No gratuities are added so it is left to your discretion. We will be going again.

First time at this restaurant and won’t be my last. Although the portions may appear small along with a couple of extras we found it just the right amount of food for lunch. The drinks prices were very reasonable and the food outstanding. What also made it an exceptional meal out was the impeccable service we received from the moment we walked in the door. First class throughout.

Maison Bleue was our choice for a special anniversary and birthday meal combined and it didn't disappoint - from the warm and professional welcome, the three distinctive 'must eat' breads and the amuse bouche of milk soup, prickling with bacony mini croutons and with a surprise bubble of red wine flavour hiding in it, right through to the homely touch of the closing petits fours served on a plain white plate enhanced with a 'happy anniversary' swirl. In between came starters of king scallop with delicately prepared chicory, with added walnut and other exciting flavour teases, stuffed rabbit, mains of (we both chose the same) free range goose cooked superbly to provide both pinkness on the inside and crispy intensity on the outside and with all manner of lovely flavours including pistachio in the accompanying goosey bits thing (sorry - forgotten what it was called but it was great!). Diane went for some lemony loveliness for afters whilst I headed off to choose (with expert advice) from the cheese trolley. Thanks Pascal and Karine for a lovely evening. Maison Bleue does both wonderful looking food that tastes even better, and creates a lovely atmosphere to enjoy it.

We’ve eaten at Maison Bleu a number of times now, lunch and dinner and it’s absolutely wonderful. I don’t understand why they do not have a Michelin star, the food is amazing and the service is impeccable. Perfect fine dining.

Maison Bleue is simply a wonderful fine dining restaurant offering an imaginative and taste tingling experience from start to finish. The environment is classy but has a great city vibe - even though it is in a sleep corner of Bury St Edmunds. We visited on a Monday lunchtime back in December (they don't normally open on Mondays) but did so for several Mondays in the run-up to Christmas. We had a three course offering and each course was sensational. Service was excellent too and the whole experience is one we will definitely seek to repeat - this time trying out the evening vibe. The wine list was also amazing. This is a great place and must be visited if you are in the area! This was as good a place as any I have eaten at for some time.

Mind blowingly stunning food. It was the best dinner we have had outside London. I recommend the Montrachet, v reasonably priced. Staff were great and had a sense of humour! Going to be making it our annual ‘big’ lunch.
