dawn of the dread uk
I came here for a family meal. The staff are very friendly and the food was great. There were some nice vegetarian options. Be cautious of the hole peppercorns in some of the dishes, though, as you will get a nasty surprise if any are hidden in your mouthful of food . The food was amazing, though and other than that I can't fault it.

This was a good meal and the service was top notch. It's good to see staff take an interest in your order and everything was was good.
What was dissapointing was there was no sparking wine by the glass available and two dishes I love, ribbs and money bags, was not available.
Other than that. All was good and would visit again.
By the way, I think you should offer 2 for 1 cocktails!

Lovely food, could have been 5 stars if they didn’t take 20 minutes to serve sweet then ask us to leave because the next booking was ready, their own slow service caused this!

Had a lovely tasty time here. Nice cocktails, delicious 😋 food served by great staff (Donovan). Great place and I'm going again.

Fantastic food and exceptional service. Easily the best place to eat in Bury St Edmund’s!

Popped in, unbooked, for a spot of lunch.
Shown to our table and given menus.
Ordered 4 starters/tapas plates and a pad Thai between us.
Food came out fairly quickly, all was lovely looking and well presented, the crispy squid was a little undercooked (the squid was cooked, but the panko wasn't as crispy as I'd expected it to be) so it wasn't super crispy, but it was still really good and that might just be a personal thing.
Only gave 3 stars for the atmosphere as we sat in the very front of the restaurant (at our request!) And it was towards the end of lunch service e so the place wasn't very busy making it fairly quiet (this suits us down to the ground) however the people that were leaving all seemed to have had a jolly time.
Would come back again, I appreciate it's a chain, but it's food isn't the mass produced stuff that you'd normally find in a chain restaurant (or if it is, you definitely wouldn't know!) Very fresh, fragrant and seasoned wonderfully.
Really liked the plates too.

We came here on a Sunday during the market were I was planning on some good market street food. I was a bit skeptical about Thai food instead of the market food, but my wife insisted; I was not disappointed.
The food was excellent. We would definitely come here again the next time we're in Bury. We ate the Thai Tapas selection as it was the best value for money and offered a nice selection of foods. The staff are welcoming, polite and attentive. The restaurant is bright and welcoming and is really large, it goes some way back in the building.
Again it's a place we would definitely come back too.

The staff was friendly and the food was perfectly cooked to perfection ♥️
Will visit again

I dined at The Giggling Squid and had an incredible experience. I ordered the Pad Thai, and it was seasoned to perfection. The flavors were harmonious and truly delicious. The service provided was top-notch - the staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. Despite the restaurant being busy, the atmosphere felt cozy and relaxing. The spacious layout allowed for a comfortable dining experience. If you're looking for a place with fantastic food, excellent service, and a cozy ambiance, The Giggling Squid is the perfect choice!"

Went here when visiting Bury St Edmunds, we stood at the front door for quite a while before anyone noticed us at the desk however the service after this was quick, friendly and the food was tasty. Portion sizes are a little on the small side but tasty. The panaeng was tasty however the peppers were quite large, could do with being chopped down more. Coconut rice wasn't very coconutty and not really as expected. But overall very tasty and service was good.
Salt and pepper squid is 10/10

Loved this place, the food was good, the restaurant was nicely done, staff were attentive but not overly so that try we're interrupting your meal every two mins. Was a tad of the expensive side but the food was worth it. Would highly recommend the red duck curry....delicious!!

Had a wonderful meal tonight. Chef even cooked a dish on request. Staff very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend

AMAZING! Went here last night for the first time through recommendation & I will defiantly be returning.
The service was fantastic, food was delicious (even ordered an extra starter! The salt & black pepper squid is to die for) & the cocktails are spot on- go on treat yourself, you won't regret it. YUM!

Good varied menu with something for everyone, nice selection of Asian beers to complement the food too. Service was slick for the first two courses but slowed considerably for desert, however it was busy for a Monday night which indicates its popularity. Would recommend and will visit again but next time to try their lunch menu

Amazing dining experience from as soon as you walk in. Lovely atmosphere and the food is incredible, hands down the best Thai food I have eaten! Super friendly staff too.

We have been there a few times now and it is always excellent with very pleasant staff who are happy to advise you on a dish. I always have the black poppy seed icecream and the rose yoghurt icecream as it is my favourite. Highly recommend the giggling squid

Good food, not bad price, service was slow and poor which let it down, wanted more drinks with the food but couldn't get any service to get them and had finished eating by the time we wanted them, also didn't appreciate the 10% automatic service tip put on the bill, i paid it, but won't next time, i will decide wether to tip or not as it was over a fiver, food is great, will be a brilliant place if the service side was improved.

I don't like spicy food and there was plenty to choose from. Food was really tasty and reasonably priced. The waiter was attentive and we didn't wait long for our food Good wine too!
Niki Szidat-Barton
Mediocre at best. Overpriced for what you get and lacking in authentic Thai flavour, I’ve had better. Nice staff and lovely looking restaurant.

Visited with friends. Love this restaurant. Food was delicious, service was attentive and friendly, but left us to enjoy our meal. Excellent bottle of wine. Only one thing negative- didn’t realise a service charge was included - spent alot of money and left a good tip on top.

First time here and the service, food and price was all great. Would recommend and will definitely be back!

Terrible service and food. Waited nearly 1 hour for starters. When it turned up it was swimming in grease and rubbery just not something you would want to eat. Main coarse not much better. The food was cold in parts and totally flavourless. Very expensive for such poor quality. The waiters didnt have time to take orders it was very rushed. Would not go here again.

We are big fans of Thai food and this restaurant didn't disappoint. Fantastic food and friendly staff.

Wonderful place, great food, and helpful staff. We book a table, early evening, whenever we are in Bury which says what we think of it... Definitely a need to pre-book as it is very busy.
