Could not rate this place enough I hired the tipee here today for my son's 3rd birthday party and although it was raining we had the best time ever the venue was great food was great and staff amazing the were all so friendly and helpful and just want to say a massive massive thank you to you all will be coming down for dinner soon lol thanks again

Went here today for lunch with a friend. We had quick friendly service the whole time we were there. The food was lovely and it was so nice to not have to cook for a change. Everywhere was clean and it got really busy as we were leaving as the sun was out and their garden is beautiful!
I have enjoyed many pubs on my trips to the UK, but the Tollgate in Bury St Edmonds is exceptional! The bar food is always hot and delicious! Wether you have the fish and chips or the beef pukka pie, they are all great! The beer is cold with numerous choices. I always start with a pint of Guinness because it’s hard to find on tap even in England! Great service and great people that run the Tollgate!
A warm greeting was followed by a fantastic meal for us both, lasagne and hunters chicken, followed by bananas, waffles and ice cream. Fantastic food at really good prices and dog friendly too !

We were looking for somewhere to eat that had a bit of variety, Gluten Free Options as my wife is coeliac and also Dog Friendly for the youngest member of the family and we have found it in abundance as well as meeting our needs the food was excellent and very reasonably priced staff were pleasant and attentive to your needs, I would highly recommend the Rump Steak it was cooked to perfection and then for afters the chocolate fondant which was heaven on a plate thoroughly enjoyed will be visiting again very soon with other members of our family. Five Stars
First time here today, and it was very busy. That said, Kim looked after us and was very attentive, served with a smile whilst rushing between customers.
I'm fussy with steak, but Kim listened and spoke with the chef. Absolutely delicious. Wonderful meals, lovely place and very pleasant friendly staff.

I have nothing but good things to say about the tollgate. The food is lovely, great atmosphere, and the staff are great. Especially Danny the assistant manager and Martin the general manager. Sacha is a breath of fresh air and is beyond amazing at her job. Highly recommend this pub for food and drinks. An all round lovely pub❤️
