by far, the BEST grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve had and yes, also BEST hot chocolate!!! We had the Maegden mix, as well as the 4th of the menu (the one with salami and honey!) - the mix of the bread and the cheeses was divine and I adored it.
also happened to order the hot chocolate which had marshmallow piped on the top and flambéed. To die for! Sadly my butter fingers led to me spilling half of it on my coat but the staff at Maegden were so so kind about it 🥹 they got out the wet towels and tissues, and even offered to replace the drink.
Well worth the visit and definitely a place to go to if you’re looking for food in the area!

Cheese toasties are absolutely wonderful. So tasty and flavoursome.
Even though it's a tourist hotspot, staff (and locals) are so friendly and pleased to see you.
Cake also highly recommended, as are the portion sizes

A lovely hidden gem. Lovely staff and amazing range of different products which you can't get anywhere else, including lots of vegan products. Tried the veggie sausage roll which was nice, but would have loved to try a vegan grilled cheese sandwich!

The best cheese toasty in Northern Ireland. by far the best you're going to find. their pickled chilli's are especially good. not to mention sweet treats. Large selection of quality foods and cheeses, jams, seasonings.

Quite an astonishing range of products many of which you'd be hard pushed to find elsewhere. With the added bonus of the owners who are so well informed and such good fun to talk to. As usual we went a bit overboard, but it wont stop us doing it again!

We visited this wee shop today for their deliciously scrummy grilled cheese sandwiches. We both still agree they just cannot be beaten! Lunch was then topped off with the most moreish bonfire hot chocolate. All the staff are very friendly and equally knowledgeable about the tempting selection of local cheeses and chutneys on offer. This place really is a wee gem and you will not be disappointed. Our disappearing waistlines are testament to that ☺️

The magical Maegdens somehow managed to move their toasties from a caravan in a field into a fully stocked deli store and still keep the same vibe and if that doesn’t persuade you to go I don’t know what would!? The melty cheesy delights are maybe even better (can you improve on perfection?) and the sundaes still as filthy / delicious as ever. ALWAYS A TREAT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Exactly what you're looking for! First, the staff is oh so friendly! Then, there's a wide variety of amazing cheeses, seriously good coffee, fresh breads of all sizes, homemade traditional goodies, special jams and krauts, and so much more! We got insanely tasty toasties (#s 1 & 2) to carry for lunch walking the causeway trail. An idea I recommend in full!

A very simple concept that has been carried out brilliantly. You can watch the chaos of the Causeway from a quiet little patch of heaven with a warm drink and a grilled cheese sandwich handmade in front of you. The service is incredibly friendly and you can ask for suggestions!
