First time I've been there for years, and what a great pub it is! First class beer, top quality food, and exceptionally friendly and professional staff! Excellent all round, Cheers!!
Update - I've been going there for a few years now, and I still think this place is fantastic! The staff are always lovely, and the food has always been tremendous. Brilliant pub and a beautiful view from the beer garden, just tops off this magnificent pub

Family meal
I read the previous review from Hannah and was very surprised. We also visited 2 days ago - family of 8.
We booked here after reading the great reviews -our first visit, I had no problem ringing up and reserving our table.
We found the staff were fantastic, it was an extremely busy Friday evening but as soon as we stepped through the door we were greeted very warmly by Ellen and shown immediately to our table, she was so attentive and friendly.
Two members of our family were running 1/2 hour late and the staff were fantastic about it we weren't rushed in any way.
The food is all home cooked and delicious, well plated and good portions sizes.
The menu selection is vast, even a smaller appetite menu, people don’t realise that this makes it extremely difficult for the chefs having to order in all these ingredients , prep and cook for such a large menu choice- so credit to the chefs and kitchen team, they work very hard!!
My omelette I chose was so yummy it was totally delicious, we all agreed how nice the food was.
My favourite dessert was on the menu so I was well pleased - biscoff cheesecake - Mmmm….delicious😋😋
It was a fantastic night, I can’t fault the staff at all, they were all very attentive. It’s a lovely place to visit and we will be definitely returning. ****
Faultless everytime I visit which is at least once a week, usually for a spot of lunch. Generally I'm a fan of the Sandwich / Baguettes and the Smaller Plates menus, good selection and portions are extremely generous and of excellent value.
First time I have been here for food and was very pleasantly surprised. Proper pub food, none of this microwave rubbish, but proper cooked food. Mixed grill, lasagne and hunters chicken. Desserts were apple and blackberry crumble and a jam sponge with custard. Everything was absolutely stunning, 15 minute wait and all drinks and food served at the table. Nice quiet atmosphere and ambiance. Now my go- to for meals. Stunning.
I really can't fault this place. The food is always top notch and the staff are friendly,attentive and always immaculately turned out. The pub is spotlessly clean, especially the toilets. The Church Inn and its staff are a credit to the liscensees. This is how a pub should be run. The only downside I can see is a lack of decent parking. If you are planning on going for a Sunday lunch, which I would totally recommend I would advise you to book in advance. It is always very busy on a Sunday.
Didn't book for Sunday lunch but the staff still managed to squeeze me and my partner in for a lovely dinner. Great service... thank you 😊
Recommended by a friend, very impressed particularly by the food, but also the friendly service. I had the steak and stout pie which was quality, from the delicious filling to the lovely flaky pastry.
First time here for Sunday dinner , highly recommended. Food was fantastic, the meat melted in your mouth and the vegetables where very fresh and plentiful.
Really lovely curry at this pub. Staff and bar staff made us feel so welcome. Everyone enjoyed their food and the beer tasted so fresh and clean. Will definitely be back. Really lovely evening.
Had a Sunday lunch here was very tasty and plenty of it would highly recommend it.
