The UK sucks for service in bars, restaurants and even basic shops these days in general however, The bear has a good team of staff and in particular a gentleman working there who has been there for a good few years and he has single handedly restored my faith in the UK service sector. His name is Terry and if he’s working in your establishment rest assured that your facility is in good hands. He is super kind, extremely professional and an absolute top notch outstanding guy. The Bears food is also sublime, the chef must also be a legend of sorts. Burgers are top top quality! All the staff are always really friendly and accommodating! Highly recommend to anyone hungry or gasping!

Stopped here on a saturday afternoon for a few drinks and some food. Food was really good - great size portions and the staff were happy to banter, and attentive - just how a great British pub should be!! Well done!

Stopped for a beer in the sunshine! Very friendly staff, casual, relaxed. Good selection of lagers available on draft. Table next to us had food which looked amazing and there were no left overs so must have been good

We went to the Bear for a Mother's Day treat for my lovely Mum whom is 90 yrs young,somehow when I called to book the table it wasn't written down & when we arrived they didn't have a table for the five of us,but the manager was so good & quickly managed to sort a table out for us without to much trouble, the meal was outstanding, so delicious,the staff were busy but attentive,my Mum had a wonderful time, we would definitely recommend & go back there again 😀

Had Mothers' Day lunch here with my mum. The roasts were absolutely amazing - great portion sizes, loads of gravy and everything was cooked well. The Biscoff cheesecake was to die for.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere too - nicely busy, without being absolutely packed in. Our food arrived pretty quickly. I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

Fabulous food, the tapas selection is great and the fish and chips is simply divine ! Great service from Sam and Terry who are a pleasure to deal with. The chef is always very adviceful and very considerate to any dietary needs or special requests. Thanks !
