I had the sausage and mash. It was the best food while I was in England. The sausage were cooked to perfection. My wife also loved her dish. It was a vegetarian pie with a pumpkin seed crumble on top. Everything was excellent about it including the crust. A must place to go to if you are in Cambridge.

Me and my family just found ourselves dining here. We were actually wandering in the street after our Punting boat ride. Checking out food places and we ended here. The place is warm and cozy. The waitress and waiter are friendly. Food is tasty and great. My picky daughter liked the Calamares. We will be back here definitely. Clean/neat water closet.

Me and my family had lunch today at the mitre and it’s was a great experience for our first visit to Cambridge. The food at the mitre was amazing, staff couldn’t do enough and the manager she was so lovely. Will 100% be popping in on our next visit to Cambridge

I came to the mitre with loads of family late on Sunday evening just before the kitchen was about to close and hadn't eaten all day and Jamie and Lily so kindly sorted us a big spread of fish and chips, pie, mac and cheese and sides! The food was excellent and they saved us x
Thank you James and lily and the chefs!

Came for some drinks with friends was welcomed straight away, ended up staying for food in the end and so happy we did! Steak & ale pie and the nicholsons burger definitely hit the spot! Thank you Jamie for letting us try the ales(apologies for being so picky!)

Must try fish and chips here. Fresh food and quick service. A bit noisy and cramped when busy. So if want to enjoy a chat, a pint and the food go during off peak hours

Their pies and ales are excellent, service and atmosphere are good.
If I was really picky I'd like a greater range of desserts.
I had Shepherds, mate had the Steak, his wife a gluten-free Shepherds, my wife the Fish pie - all very good.

The Mitre in Cambridge – I did not even think about blogging about this pub lunch outing. I was supposed to have a light lunch before heading for a eat-as-much-as-you-can buffet dinner. Before talking about my pub lunch, I never understood why those long hyphenated wordings were necessary before the word ‘buffet’. Is it not repetitive in itself? In a brief explanation, buffet means one serves oneself with the implicit meaning of as-much-as-you-can-eat. So, why repeat the words after the other? See why I do not understand? Never mind that for now. Back to the pub food in Cambridge. The occasion was supposed to be a family day out. This ‘family day out’ means: 1. no blogging work (and not even thoughts of it are allowed), 2. no social media app is allowed to be used for recommending what to eat and where to go (exception is that we are able to use GPS if we are lost in the middle of nowhere and no other human being is in sight) and 3. pictures taken on phone should not be posted on social media on that snapping instant (saving it for later is ok, hence the #throwback is useful). When my source of information had been disabled, I let my inner feeling take over the decision making. In this case it was a combination of that gut feeling, the rainy weather and desperation from trying to satiate my hunger. There were a few other pubs and restaurants on Bridge Street but The Mitre was the one that we walked into. The Mitre serves British favourite classic pub food like pies, sandwiches, fish and chips, breakfast options, Sunday roast, pork and black pudding sausages, brownie, summer puddings and a selection of ice-creams and sorbets. A special lunch deal from £7.00 – which includes one main plate and a drink and special dinner deal on weekdays from £9.00. A large dining room with a brightly lit bar and colourful slot machine, clean toilets and family-friendly environment, The Mitre attracts a wide audience of clients. Our food was served after giving us just the right amount
