We have used Lotus House many times over the years. We found it when staying nearby in Gt Shelford in our Touring Caravan. Dont have a caravan now, but we travel from Bedfordshire. We visited Friday evening for the first time in little a while - still the same fab food and excellent service. Really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend 👍

*MASSIVE EDIT* ... FYI - I am leaving my original review of what now isn't the Lotus House in Sawston, depressingly! These are my comments re the "takeaway ' thats replaced it ... Well, i can confirm, lt is rubbish. Total, utterly twaddle. Service is now non existent, food is really quite shockingly bad & they've literally left everything the same, in & on the exterior of 5he shop ... The perfect example of total day and night differences!!
Literally, the BEST Chinese food, from the BEST Chinese Takeaway, I have EVER been to & tried. The food is absolutely always 100% freshly made to your order, and any specific requests you have a happily received. The food is of the highest quality, cooked expertly & portion sizes are very generous, indeed!! Hand on heart, the ONLY Chinese Takeaway that I will go to. Recommended to veggies, too, due to the high range of vegetarian and vegan dishes. And to top it off, it is very modestly priced.

I have been using this Chinese for over thirty years. We absolutely love it and we now live down near Huntingdon and we will travel to pick up a Beef curry, as we simply can’t find one round our way that compares.
The food is great and the staff so friendly. Highly recommended!!!

Open again after a 4 month hiatus. The food and the service is just as it has been fir the last 15 years. In my opinion this is thr best Chinese food in Sawston

What a lovely Chinese! Had crispy wontons (they were king prawn)
Sesame prawn toast,
The chefs special appetizer thing which is wonton, 2 ribs, crispy seaweed and prawn toast.
I had the roast chicken chow mein which was a quarter of a chicken in barbecue sauce and the chow mein noodles.
Omg so lovely! They're lovely there! Unfortunately they are moving at the end of January 2022 so will have to keep an eye on them to see where they move to.
Will defo eat there again! Next time I'll try the wonton soup and special chow mein.
Waited until the next day to review just incase it was a 'bad chinese' and nope, all good!

I have been using this for 25 years we now live in Huntingdon and still pop in and pick up a take away when passing, yes it stays warm till we get home and the food is amazing.
