Asmara Restaurant

The food: I had no idea there was such good Ethiopian and Eritrea food in Central. The plates were spiced to perfection. Each dish was unique in flavor and spicy to an enjoyable level. Also the honey wine was amazing, so smooth. The service: I came with a group of friends, one of which did not feel comfortable eating with her hands. When she asked for a spoon the waiter laughed her off. She ended up having almost nothing to eat that night. What she did manage to eat, she ended up enjoying. However I would caution more reserved guests and make them aware that they will not be accommodated in this restaurant. Like the other reviews said, there's only one waitress so don't expect to get your food quickly if you get in during peak hours.

I really loved the vibe of the place. You get to choose between traditional vs conventional seating. A little too date-night ambiance for when I visited with a friend. The waiter was cheerful and knowledgeable about the dishes, as one would expect but seldom encounter: she was the best part. Food was great, take care to order flavor combinations that complement each other. Nice place to visit with friends.

I'd never had Ethiopian food. This was interestingly delicious. You must be comfortable eating with your hands absolutely no utensils saving the planet 1 fork at a time. The foods comes all on one very large plate pretty much call communal eating. AKA sharing the 💕 LOVE. This place is great for vegetarians.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time! It’s such a great learning experience as well. The staff was extremely pleasant. It’s obviously a very popular location as people were standing in line waiting for tables. Everything was run like a well oiled machine. We had a few different dishes to share, spicy chicken was really good. It took a couple tries to get a hang of how to eat the food, but it was so fun! It’s definitely something we’ll look back on and remember fondly.

Went out to dine last night and feel lucky to have picked this restaurant. warm welcoming atmosphere and the employees working were gracious. The quality of the food and wine absolutely lives up with it’s price. Lovely spot for a date or a friend gathering. Will definitely be coming back, hopefully with friends this time. Much love
