I've been wanting to eat at Forage for a while, and got a last minute outdoor dinner reservation. The tasting menu was asparagus (not my favorite) so we went a la carte. Also with the tasting menu, I'm not currently drinking and you can't exclude alcohol (unlike other places which give you the flexibility to choose whether you want alcoholic pairings). It wouldn't make sense to pay for the tasting menu if you're not going to be drinking. They did have one non-alcoholic beer on the menu...that they were out of.
We started with the Steamed Mussels, Wild Greens, and side of Iggy's bread. It's not a great sign when Iggy's bread (not made in-house) is easily the best thing out of the initial starters. Except for the few sitting in broth the steamed mussels were oddly plentiful yet devoid of flavor. The wild greens felt like someone had taken a small handful of weeds from the sidewalk, kind of cooked them a little, and thrown them on the plate.
The main dish we split, Lion's Mane Mushrooms, was incredible. Excellent composition and flavor. It's the only reason this meal wasn't a total failure, especially at the price they charge.
Overall pretty disappointed and definitely wouldn't go back. There are better restaurants in this area for this price point.

This spot delivers solidly mediocre food at an extremely premium price point. I ordered the hanger steak dish and asked for medium. Not only did the steak come out extremely rare but the entire dish was noticeably bland. The vegetables had a strong dirt taste and didn’t compliment the steak well. The kitchen seemed to know that this dish is rather flavorless because they lobbed a scoop of butter on top—definitely not something I’d expect from a $40 dish. The flavors in the eggplant and risotto dishes were slightly better but not worth the price. The restaurant’s setting was nice but the kitchen really took an amateurish approach to creating these dishes.

The food here is very good. The set menu has several options, including vegan and vegetarian. My only issue is that the vegan menu was a little light on food so I was not full at the end but the flavors were fabulous. highly recommend. The meat eaters at my table enjoyed their dishes as well!

Whether a normal Thursday night with one of their amazing wine dinners or an actual special occasion, the people know how to make any night something to write home about. It's impossible to list a favorite dish because the menu matches what's seasonal and delicious but their wine and cocktail selection is great - trust them to recommend something you'll love! (I'm def still drooling over the beef mole papusa and my Honey Bear cocktail though)

Absolutely incredible. Food is always amazing and the wine pairings are delicious and very different from your standard fare. Go on Tuesdays for the special 3 course wine dinner which usually comes with a theme and is probably the best deal in the greater metro for the quality. Will be back and thanks for the awesome case of wine too!!!

Interesting neighborhood restaurant set in a converted garden apartment in a larger apartment building. The interior is cozy, with a small bar near the entrance. Food is farm-to-table, with significant vegetarian options and emphasis on seasonal produce. There are small plates and large plate options, and the staff is attentive to food allergies. I found the food to be fresh, with some creative seasoning. Wine is sourced from Europe, and beer menu is mostly local.

Cute little place. Had lovely wine pairings; some very interesting and unusual bottles. The tasting menu is more like a prix fixe, as the courses provided were available to order off the regular menu. Everything was very tasty, so I didn't mind at all, but just know what you're getting into.

Got a recommendation from someone who has been in the Cambridge restaurant scene for decades and for those of us who miss Little Osaka and Joyce Chen from Fresh Pond it's so heartening to realise that you can eat better in Cambridge on Charles nowadays than in London or Paris. This place has a killer wine list and a farm-fresh elegance equal to none. All of my wine selections were superb revelations and from the look of the menu I could come back again and again and be wowed every time. The imaginative yet potent taste combinations bring you straight into the Epicurean delight, served with informed, no-nonsense panache. Thank you Stan
