This place is GREAT! Already one of my favorites in the area.
Food: best sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. I had the “Luke rocks the free world” sandwich and it would melt in my mouth.

20 mins and counting waiting for a spinach egg and cheese sandwich - when I spoke to the person behind the counter, she was very dismissive of my complaint. Even though the food is pretty good, we will not be returning. Their customer service is quite abysmal and this experience was not worth the headache.
Edit: the sandwich came out at 27 mins. The first person told me there was no manager available, and when I asked a second person she was able to bring someone out who shrugged his shoulders and said "that's just how it is sometimes" when I complained of the long wait.

I have lived in the Huron/Garden area since 1994. The HiRise The food is great. But the demeanor of most of the staff is condescending. I’ve watched staff come and go and it is always the same. My thoughts are that this is influenced by the proprietor. Again this morning same thing. The woman in front of me left to go across the street to Sarah’s as she had enough. I stayed to get the oatmeal but I think going forward I’ve had enough. Why reward this kind of behavior. I will travel a little further to Figs in Somerville where everyone gets the utmost respect. No more Hi Rise. ! I don’t care how good your food is.

I've been here twice. First time ordered the huevos rancheros which was expensive, but sizable and tasty. Would order again. Second time ordered the avocado "toast." "Toast" is in quotes because this was the thinnest, smallest slice of bread I have ever seen at a bakery topped with a few slices of avocado. Absolutely not an appropriate amount of food for what it cost and I was still hungry after eating it. They proved the boomers right, this avocado toast WILL make you broke. Also took them forever to make this tiny thing. I wanted to like this place, I really did, but I can't let other people make the same mistake as me and leave feeling hangry!

The staff never fails to be uptight and unfriendly. I would give them three stars because their bread is good but La Saison right down the street is way better. Better bread, better people. Just go there.

Hi Rise has become a true neighborhood lifeline with full service grocery pickup, plus awesome coffee and baked goods as always. Staff is extremely friendly and the food is great!

Great vibe, and good sandwiches. I come here almost every day the coffee is inconsistent, but when it is good it is great!

Great spot serving up Counter Culture coffee, a prized roaster out of Durham, NC - my old stomping grounds. They do the beans justice and pay attention to grind size, roast freshness, water quality, everything you need to care about to make a good cup. Espresso beverages have good foam, although I don't particularly care for their syrups (not that I like anybodys). You must try a pastry or a sandwich while here, as this is a bread company at heart! No WiFi, which depending on your purpose can be a pro or a con.
