L.a. Burdick Handmade Chocolates

I came across L.A. Burdick by chance with my husband. We just wanted to have a drink but the amazing place and the quiet atmosphere attracted us 😍 We ordered hot chocolate for our drinks and some cakes, and spent about an hour there. I loved my cake. Highly recommend to taste it. It’s a must go place to visit!

The place is not very large with few tables where you can eat inside and really not very comfortable. The desserts are really delicious, but with regard to the chocolate I was a little disappointed because I expected it to be much thicker and creamier, instead it was very liquid. The only thing I don't recommend are the small sweets, similar to the French macarons, but they don't have the same crispness and lightness as the originals; it's better to stick to the chocolate single-portions, there are some very good ones! At the beginning of the restaurant there is a small shop where you can buy chocolate or small gifts.

This was the absolute best hot chocolate I've ever had! I got a small milk chocolate and drank it in three sips. I wish I'd ordered a larger size because it's been two days and I'm still thinking about it. My friend got the Brazil. I'm not a fan of dark chocolate but they really enjoyed it. I guess this place is known for having extremely rich hot cocoa and it definitely is that. Very thick (in the best way) and creamy 😋 L.A. Burdick was a great way to warm up on a cold, rainy night. Also, the passion fruit dessert was out of this world!

L.A. Burdick's hot chocolates have a deep and rich flavor that I adore, and the cakes are soft but very flavorful. The atmosphere is also great even though it's small, and the service was quick and kind. Something to note though is that if you want single source hot chocolate, you can only have the one they provide for the day. Regardless, I would 100% recommend it and their cakes to everyone.

Is this some of the most amazing chocolate you can find in New England? Yes. Is it the most amazing chocolate in the world? No. But still, it would get five stars except for the fact that after having new ownership for the last few years, the chocolate and hot chocolate itself hasn't been as good. However, they are still top notch quality. What's more, some of their pastries are undervalued by consumers. The ginger cake is out of this world. The "Harvard Square" is also amazing. However, some of their other pastries are not so good. I would also consider changing this to five stars if they moved into the 21st century. They close early and they don't offer delivery. They should do the opposite. Or close early, but continue offering delivery throughout the night. Who wouldn't want to pay for chocolate in the middle of the night?
