Low price and wide variety of beers, sure, but hardly ever one can find a good one. The (old) manager is quite rude but all the remaining staff are nice and friendly in general. Cash only, MIT only, neither of which is pleasant. Very loud and crowded, as can be expected from a university bar. To be fair, unlike my opinion, many people love the place, so give it a try and see if it suits you..

It can get busy and a bit messy, and there isn't a massive amount of room, but it's a student bar in a cozy old student center.
The beer is dang cheap and they only let in MIT people. The beer they have is surprisingly good.
It's a nice place to cap off a Friday.

Finished a beer quickly to leave and was scolded by the manager for “chugging” and not to besmirch the reputation of MIT. 5 feet away nothing was done about the weed dealing and 6 people smoking weed on the steps of the institution. I just thought that was hilariously misguided. The atmosphere and beer are great. Just not the power trip, man.

This is a exclusive bar for MIT students and alumni which are allow to bring guests. Not the best bar you will ever be. But, atmosphere is nice and beer is very affordable

Cheap beer. The draft selection always includes Miller High Life ($6 per pitcher). The other taps rotate and have really unique beers usually. Lots of people are having conversations, but it never gets too loud. The seating is a bit limited, so you may end up standing for the whole night.

Though only open to the MIT community, this bar always has something good on tap for a great price. Bar tenders are all good, and interesting if they are feeling chatty, and the atmosphere is homey but still open enough to be able to converse even in a full bar.

The MIT bar to be. Serves a rotating list of drafts and bottled beers as well as some snacks, all fairly cheap.
You need to be at MIT (or be accompanied by someone from there) to get in, though.
