The place doesn't have much seating. 3 to 4 families can sit at a time. There was only one person who was serving, taking orders, managing the counter so the service was little slow but since I had time, I didn't mind. Anyways, no complaints about the food. It was delicious, and huge portion, I couldn't finish. Had to take away the rest but my mouth still waters thinking about it. I would recommend this place for take out rather than dine in. For dine in, they have the space but they need to improve few things.

Incredible Ethiopian cuisine. I have been to many Ethiopian restaurants up and down the east coast from DC, to NYC, and Boston ... Sheger is among the best - including the famed DC Adams Morgan restaurants. As you can see from the photo, we had a massive amount of food shared between three people. The Ethiopian samosa appetisers were great and the food arrived quickly. We took home leftovers and saved room for the baklava dessert which was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Great place for a quick bite. Must try their Baklava. Not a lot of drink options but had amazing vegetarian and vegan options. Must try their combo platter.

Big fan of Ethiopian cuisine. Tried this cafe after all the ratings. Got the vegetarian combo plate. The food was okay, for some reason seemed really low on flavor side. Bread itself wasn't sour as it was supposed to be. Wasn't the best of Ethiopian food of all the places tried. May be it was just that day of takeout ? Not sure. Lentils, also tasted pretty bland. Not the best of experience.

This restaurant was a disappointment. Their food is lacking authenticity in flavoring and the portions are extremely small. We were really excited to see a new Ethiopian restaurant in the neighborhood, but we will not be returning. I have eaten Ethiopian cuisine in several restaurants and have only had one experience as poor as this one. The speed of service was fine, although the server seemed indifferent and the ambiance okay, but it could not make up for the poor food quality.

LACK OF INTEGRITY!! UPDATE - we left our customer copy of bill at the table. The restaurant decided to tip themselves more than what we had tipped them. Lack of integrity and honesty. Never seen any other restaurant do this. Pathetic people. Never going back again and will NOT recommend anybody to go here. Reducing from 3 star to 1 star. Previous review!! Quite unhappy with the restaurant. I have had Ethiopian food in NY, Boston & DC and this place was not as good. I had ordered vegetarian combination platter and the quantity of each side dish was so much LESSER than what is usually served at other Ethiopian restaurants and nobody charges for additional injera when you purchase a combo platter. I was charged extra $2 here. I also ordered samosa and only 1 mini samosa was served for $3. Other places serve 2 samosas. The restaurant was otherwise well maintained. The food was served quickly. Washrooms were clean, injera was decent and the side dishes were okay( Curries were not creamy ). One side was missing but they served a boring salad instead. Not going here again. If you’re trying Ethiopian for the first time this is not the place to go.

Went there on Monday night, and we were the only customers, I ordered two entrees, the one was recommended by the owner, it was mostly starchy bread with beef jerky, have to say that was a huge mistake. The lamb dish were ok, very little food though. Taste were ok, and I had much better Ethiopian foods before. It's one of those restaurants that you go once and won't return. My friend had the veggie combo, very little food as well. It did take two meat entrees to feed one person.
