Portside Restaurant

Food is good, but won’t be back again. Questionable business practice!!! When a hospitality business put “automatic” 20% tips with a 3% credit card convenience fee without verbally “TELLING” the customer, I just don’t feel comfortable. I’d feel much better if I’m verbally and physically informed. Actually, I’d have tip more if they don’t do that.

We have visited this spot twice, a weekday lunch and a Sunday afternoon, both times sitting outside enjoying the weather and view. Food was very good. The cream of crab soup I had on my first visit brought me back for a second meal. The soup was delicious! Fish & Chips on the first trip was good, my grandson had steamed clams and loved them too. On the second visit we had the crab melts as well as the soup. Very tasty. Wait staff was attentive, bringing drink refills without being asked. Meals were served promptly. The waitress was there when we needed her. There was a 3% surcharge for credit card purchases and a 3% discount for cash. This was clearly stated at the door.

We used to love to go there for the clams casino. Went there tonight, we ordered 2 orders of 6 . When we got them, they were so small. Tiny little necks. That would have been fine if you would have given a few more to equal to the plate we used to get. They were mid necks. Nice sized. We loved them! I guess loosing customers don't matter to you.

We are back. I just HAD to share my experience with this place. When I drove up I was like, it's on the water, check. Then went on and it was a very loud bar so I was like hmmmm. Our server was cool and very informative on items she had tried and recommend. ( I ordered stuffed shrimp with crab imperial) But then the food came out...I tasted mine and literally could have melted into my seat..I couldn't stop talking about how good the flavor was. My daughter let me taste her tenders and because it a seafood restaurant I was concerned, but it was amazing also. My son had sweet Thai chili wings and the sauce for that was delicious. Mic drop. Go try it!!

This place surpassed any expectations that I had. Marsha was our server and she was the greatest waitress I've ever encountered in my lifetime. From the prompt seating, to the cleanliness of the restaurant, to the attention to our needs... it all was absolutely amazing. The food came out piping hot and the taste was phenomenal. The crabmeat in my stuffed shrimp was lump and had a flavor that was unlike any other. Unbeknownst to me, Marsha was the owner. She didn't divulge that info until we were walking out of the door. Her compassion, attention to detail and her impeccable service is what has sealed the fate of frequenting this establishment for me. If you're ever in the area, please do yourself the favor of stopping in and enjoying their cuisine.

I do not know what the rave was about for this place. I was disgusted the moment I step in there. Flies everywhere including dead flies in our table! I paid $24.99 for shrimp dinner and the picture below shows what I got, minus one. I got a baked potatoes with no cheese and a salad that has fixings on the that I asked to be excluded and....I ordered a side of crab cake. It was good until I bit into a lemon seed. Almost broke my tooth. There was Mac and cheese mixed into my crab cake... really!!! What was that all about??? My husband asked for mashed potatoes and got baked potatoes. The service was awful. I thought that maybe it was the food that would make up for it...NOPE. I barely got any of that either. Not a spot for a first or second visit.
