We've started becoming regular faces at The Royal Oak. Richard and Vicky always make us feel very welcome and the food is excellent. Service is also excellent and friendly. Came here for dinner the night before Mothering Sunday, bringing my parents who had never eaten here before. We were all highly impressed and satisfied with everything. Thanks everyone for a memorable evening.
Just brilliant..only had a sandwich and chips washed down with a pint of Ay Up..butbweel worth a visit..wish I lived more local as would make it my local. Very friendly

Popped in as a last-minute thing on a wet Tuesday lunchtime, and was lucky enough to get the last table that wasn't already reserved! Staff were very attentive, lovely log fire on the go, and amazing food (definitely recommend the steak and ale pie). Total bill for 2 main meals and drinks was £35, so reasonable on the prices too.
Enquired about Sunday dinner whilst I was there and was told they're booked up 6 weeks in advance, so it's worth ringing ahead.
Always a friendly welcome, a good pint and excellent food. Also a great place to sit out and enjoy the sun, especially if there's a cricket match on.
As far as Sunday lunch goes the Royal Oak is the best I’ve had by a country mile. We arrived a little early so sat in the Bar by the fire and had a drink waiting for our table. The Bar is so cosy I almost wished our table was late ….But it wasn’t. The landlord is my kind of landlord in that he clocked my near empty pint and nodded do I want another 😊👍 ( my kind of Guy ). Staff are friendly atmosphere great which matched everything we ate. My only complaint would be the deserts are to big 😊👍
We went for lunch today (recommend booking as it was very busy). The food was LOVELY and staff are so kind and welcoming. Great portion sizes and all homemade! 2 of us had the gammon, My partner had the brie and bacon sandwich and our step grandma had the scampi. Everyones food was perfect, you can have numerous different sides (big chips, fries, sweet potato, veg, salad and more). Will you not leave hungry!! Highly recommend and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The food is fantastic but the thing that makes this place stand out is the service and atmosphere created by the hard working staff! Richard (Landlord) is the most wonderful host and makes you feel like old friends. The rest of the team are just as warm and welcoming and we can't wait to return.Thankyou, especially for the extra bit of cheesecake!

If Carlsberg did country pubs!! What a gem, great service, really friendly with pub food done to a high standard. Best brie and bacon sarnie I've ever had!
