So 2 excellent courses, 1 poor course, friendly service and a buzzing atmosphere; all in all it added up to an excellent meal. Next time I’ll just buy a bar of Dairy Milk for pudding on the way home.
Delicious food, very reasonably priced, super friendly staff, love it!
Highly recommend sharing a load of mezze with mates, washed down with lashings of lebanese wine, finished with lebanese dessert and mint tea.
We actually only came here for a drink and I'm so glad we did. For just under a fiver I got the most amazing cocktail. Margarita on the rocks it was and had cointrean and sour mixes, yum.
The food looked amazing as it was whizzed past our noses and will be coming back again to try it out.
Judging by the reviews none of the others have tried the food but have tried the amazing cocktails. I have had a chance to sample the food and i must admit I was quite impressed. I would say the food was reasonably priced for what I got and tasted fantastic. Although I can't quite remember what it was called I had a lamb dish which was served with rice and salad. The decor inside is quite nice, fairly well lit and the staff were very helpful in getting us our drinks soon after seating us. The food arrived promptly and it was really easy to grab the waiter's attention when we wanted another drink or to ask for the bill. I will be definitely going the Mina again if not for the scrumptious food but for the awesome cocktails.
Not to be confused with the frankly addictive La Mina baguette shop on Albany Road, this Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant is equally fantastic. The prices mean it's probably best suited for special occasions rather than a weekly meal destination, but that suits the cosy vibe. Once inside you may not quite feel like you've journeyed all the way to the Middle East, but you'll instantly forget the surrounding takeaways and traffic of Crwys Road. The Lebanese wine range should be your first stop, the reasonably priced, quality cocktails make an intoxicating dessert substitute and in between thoughtful, filling ranges of regional chicken and vegetarian dishes seem particular specialities. Friendly service, while it's wise to book a table at weekends/notable nights like Valentine's Day to avoid a trawl round the streets for inferior alternatives.
went there last night and had 9 of the mezza dishes between 3 of us, also tried the lebanese wine, friendly and we will go again
Been here a couple of times, its located in a student area, without the student prices however. It's really good food, they do lebanese food- but also some english- good in case you have children/less adventurous friends etc. I really love the lebanese salad as the starter here. Doesn't take too much room in the stomach, because the main courses are quite large. Lots of choice for the vegetarian as well.
It was our 1st time at Mina restaurant and we went there for a celebration. The staff were polite, warm and welcoming. Service was great. The food was amazing and so flavourful!
They graciously moved the table for us when we asked them to. Can't really fault them for anything. Would definitely recommend to everyone!
Do not miss out on this amazing Lebanese restaurant- the staff are very friendly and the food was just divine. All our dishes were full of flavour and scrumptious. We will definitely come back again!
Delicious food and excellent service.
It was our first visit to Mina restaurant last night. It was the best meal we had in Cardiff so far. Everything was super delicious and well portioned. We ordered a mezze platter for the starter, three different types of lamb dishes and Lebanese sweets for dessert. We will be back again soon here. Highly recommend.
A true hidden treasure in Cathays. A spontaneous visit after a word of mouth recommendation from another local business and it did truly live up to its reputation! We ordered the Mashwi Mwshakal for two and every mouthful was so flavourful.
Thank you to all staff for their kind service too, really made the whole experience so enjoyable. Safe to say we will be returning!
Absolutely incredible meal my husband and I had here. We ordered a large selection of hot and cold starters. Everything was so fresh and bursting with flavour. The service was lovely and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. I wish we lived closer as I'd be happy to eat there often!
Brilliant food and very friendly and quick service. I've been to a few middle Eastern restaurants and this is definitely one of the best. The kibba (lamb stuffed balls) are the best I've had. They were also very helpful, squeezing us in without a reservation
Hummus is good. Lamb chop is excellent! Good service too.
Would have given 5* if the place was a bit cooler. Food was great, taste and proportion. But environment was hot and gloomy. Couldn't enjoy the tasty food as there was no AC. Will visit again in winter. Not a place for summer when heat wave is in the air.
lovely decorations in the restaurant! the server was very helpful and accommodating. amazing food. 5/5
I went for a meal with my mother, we like to explore the foods available around Cardiff...and in short, it was amazing!
The atmosphere was so calming, it really transports you ready to try the Lebanese cuisine.
The service was so welcoming and gave the best recommendations, the portions are so filling and the cocktails are pretty tasty too.
Highly recommend.
