Really nice food. Great selection of beers. Wonderful service: very adaptable and considerate. Made a huge effort for my vegan girlfriend even though it wasn't something they normally did.

Lovely countryside pub with friendly staff. Just what you need after you've been out walking the trails. Walking into the pub there was an open fire and the decor fits in nicely with the style. We only used the pub for drinks, so I can't comment on the rooms etc, looking at the property, I would think the rooms would be nice and from what I seen the food looks lovely. Seems to be popular has there was a nice atmosphere around the pub with locals, cyclists and walkers. Best part... It's dog friendly.

One of the best Sunday roasts we have had in a very long time! The Glamorgan sausages were out of this world, and the veg and sides were all delicious. Staff were so lovely and helpful with my elderly nan and the place is great with allergies and dog friendly! We also had their bread basket with butter, which is a must for a me, and a very tasty pudding after. Full mark's from all 4 of us! Attended last Sunday. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely food and lovely quaint pub. Staff were lovely until we finished the food and tried to split the bill. They wanted just one person to pay and sort it between us, didn't see what the issue was splitting it up at the till. High service charge also added to the bill. Location gets ridiculously busy and only limited parking so streets are full with cars for the pub which must annoy locals.

Have always liked this place but after a recent stay, I like it even more. A great welcome and the food we had was exceptional and definitely restaurant quality. This traditional pub is an absolute gem and is now a firm favourite. Hope to get back there for a pint or two soon.

Reserved a table (definitely recommend as it was very busy). Excellent selection of beers, good non-alcoholic options. Food took some time to arrive but amazing and well worth the wait. The specials were really good. A cut above. Worked out at just under £30 per head for mains and drinks.

All i can say is this place is a little gem in the hills, the rooms are very clean and pretty large the bathroom was a decent size and 1 thing I loved about this place that it was peaceful, couldn't have any food in the pub as its closed Monday and Tuesdays but can walk in to the village that has plenty of places to grab something. The customer service was 5 star I can't say a bad thing about this pub and would recommend anyone to nip in for a pint, food or even a cheeky weekend away. Would like to do a massive thank you to Maggie who was amazing and also cooks the best breakfast in Wales (I will argue anyone who disagrees with me to the death) Thank you for the lovely stay and will be staying again (hopefully soon)

1st visit to this lovely establishment. The place was very busy as this was one of the first nice days of the year. We were shown directly to our table where water was brought immediately (without us having to ask). Orders were taken promptly and, despite how busy the whole place was, our meals were served without any additional wait time! My partner had scallops and tourndos rossini and I had gluten free rack of lamb. What can I say!! Everything was absolutely delicious. The only down side was we were so full did not have room for a dessert!! All of the staff were very friendly and attentive and always had time to have a few words. The gluten free choices were very good (unlike many other restaurants) and I'm told the tourndos rossini was amazing and very moorish while the beer selection was really good but unfortunately we could not sample much due to the drive home! I try to take a few photos to share but as the food was so good, I was too busy eating to take any on this occasion. Hopefully next time, as we will definitely be back

The service, the food, the atmosphere, the drinks choices, the spacious table, the bar....everything about the Gwaelod-y-Garth got great reviews from the five in our group. The whole experience restored my faith that there are nice, customer focused establishments out there worth searching for. We were also pleasantly surprised with the bill, coming in at around £37 a head, having had between us a couple of starters and desserts (shared) and having a couple of drinks and a main each. If you have room at the end of your meal, the lemon cheesecake gets a resounding perfect 10 out of 10 from us. We will definitely return and happily recommend.
