Visited here on a recent trip to Cardiff based on these good reviews and was not disappointed.
Food was absolutely delicious. 100% would return if next in the area.
We decided to book a very impromptu night in Cardiff and looked for places near our hotel to eat for the evening. We found The Quill and Quote on Google and decided to give it a go based on the great reviews. Wow we were not disappointed, the place itself is cosy and inviting, the food was not only absolutely incredible (we had starters and mains) but also great value. Above all, the service was exceptional, Aaron and Mia thank you so much for being so friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back!

Ate here last night just my husband and I. Staff were lovely, very attentive without being in your face. Knowledgeable about the wine and food. Starter satay chicken was delicious. Mains of cod loin and chicken tikka were also delicious , my curry was huge. Would definetly eat here again. Staff very meticulous about allergies well done.
We went there today as a table of 15 and had a lovely time. The staff are so attentive, Nothing is too much trouble, a couple of examples , the lovely barman who asked if i wanted him to help carry my drinks, the fab waiting staff who offered more gravy, sauces and desserts and kept checking everything was ok.. Finally the lovely waitress who may have been the manager who helped me work out the bill for everyone. The Food was lovely, good size portions plenty of choice and good quality meats. Highly recommend. Thanks to all the lovely staff.Well done all!
Lovely little place on the bottom of rummey hill . Lovely interior. First time I've been here and won't be the last. Had the 10oz rump steak and chips with garlic mushrooms . Was excellent . Deffinetly worth a visit. Best to book as it was filling up as we left 👍
Having lived in the area for 9yrs I did know this place existed.
First visit today, food, beer was fantastic..

Anyone in the Wales/Cardiff area would be doing themselves a disservice to not visit this pub! Amazing food, outstanding staff (especially Becky and Jason!!), and incredible atmosphere. Staff were accommodating and left us with many local recommendations for attractions in the area. Food far above par and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect end to a day in Wales.

Researched a place for a good steak near our hotel and came up with the Quill & Quote with good reviews. The steak was "chunky" juicy and cooked to perfection, the only thing was the onion rings were a little over cooked couldn't cut them as they shattered 🫣 My Son had the Gnocchi Special, looked beautiful and he said it was delicious. I had the pulled BbQ lamb with lime a d coriander rice, nachos with cheeae sauce, sour cream. Unfortunately it failed to mention it was in fact a bbq pulled lamb "Chilli Con Carne" had I have known I probably wouldn't have had this as I'm not a huge fan. So a little menu tweak there so you know what you're getting would be good. Although I'm not a fan of general chilli con carne I have to say this was very well cooked and the chunks of lamb were phenomenal. Cheese sauce (squeeze cheese) was a little lack lustre on the nachos, kinda cheapened the dish a bit when everything else was so obviously freshly prepared. These are just general critiques but overall the meals were great, staff were friendly and attentive and we would recommend!
Outstanding!! Used this venue for a wedding and cannot thank both management and staff enough for an absolute flawless day, they couldnt do enough for us and made it stress free.
Would easily recommend to anyone who is looking for anything from a quick bite to any special event look no further you will not be disappointed!! Would happily come back here for birthday parties, anniversaries and any other day so on behalf of my wife and I thank you to all staff and management at Thackeray Cardiff!!
