Just had fish and chips delivered to Whitchurch village. Quite away from the shop but when it arrived it was piping hot. Very impressed with that and the quality of the food was excellent too. Highly recommend to others.

Had a menu leaflet pushed through my letterbox yesterday and rather than use my normal chippy I decided to give Yan's a go since they deliver.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love my normal chippy as they serve great Fish & Chips but I enjoyed Yan's ............... so much so that I will be ordering again tonight 8-)

We had lovely fish and chips from here last night. The origin of the cod was up on a board, as well as the potato variety. Great range of soft drinks on offer. The batter was really crispy with moist fish inside. Good chips. The 'small' portions of chips were huge! All just wrapped in paper so there was very little waste.
Fish is always fresh & delicious. Chip portions hot & plentiful & Steve is always warm & welcoming.
Banging food! A must try! Next time if i want fish and chips its definitely from here, the search is over.I ordered cod and chips with Irish curry. Food arrived very fast, the portions are solid, it was piping hot. They give you a nice sample of the other fish which I think it's a great idea you, get to try both. Cod and the sample 10/10, very juicy and soft ,Irish curry and chips 10/10 perfect combo and very very smooth , it was good quality and well cooked food.

Hands down best Fish n Chips in Wales, maybe the whole UK. I live abroad and not a day goes by where I'm not missing Yans. Wonderful. Real deal. The gold standard to which all fish n chips should be compared the world over.
Every time I have the chips from hear always nice n fresh "crispy" how they always should be from any other chippy.

This has to be the best fish and chip shop in Cardiff. Been so disappointed with some chip shops. Will be coming here from now on. Fabulous. Have found the one and only.
We'd read the reviews and decided to try it for ourselves. It was every bit as good as we could have hoped. The chips were well cooked and tasty, and the batter on the fish was crispy, light and delicious. The fish itself was cooked perfectly too. The curry sauce we ordered was nice enough, but was a bit thick for our taste.......but that was such a minor issue. We loved it Yan's overall and we will be back!

Long established chippy which needs everyone's custom. Brilliant owner who has time for everyone. Just a shame parking is hit and miss if your outside of walking distance. Chips are very fresh and excellent quality. I prefer my fish with very crispy batter, where this is a flat type batter. The chicken is perfect and curry sauce beautiful.
incredibly fast service, piping hot food. really glad they have irn bru as well! ordered the cod bites and small chips. very good portion of chips and i even got an extra cod bite! establishment looked very clean. staff were very polite. good value for money. would definitely order from here again.
The boss Steve is great. He quickly gets to know you and is very welcoming. This is true of all the staff. The chips are easily the best in Cardiff! Portion sizes are VERY good. The prices may seem a little expensive but the quality and portion size make it REALLY worth it. When I have to go some where else, because I want chips before they open, I ALWAYS regret it.
They are amazing with very large orders - I drop the order in, in the afternoon, and pick up in the evening - they are always on time. They put the names on the bags of chips which is so helpful.
Lastly, they take card payments, which is so convenient!

First time in there today, grabbing some quick food in between house viewings (typical student). Chips were absolutely lovely and sausages were great too, had to wait a bit for the chips to finish cooking - but definitely worth the wait!!! Not too expensive either!

Excellent service. Excellent food. Haven't been to this chippy for some time. Decided to go back there today as local chippy's were closed..... I wasn't disappointed! Ordered chicken and chips via phone at 1150 (10 mins before opening time). Arranged to pick up at 1205. As I walked through the door (at 1205) the food was passed to me in a bag nice and hot. Chicken cooked well and crispy skin on the outside (just how I like it). Plenty of hot and tasty chips too, so put some aside for tea later. Salt and vinegar already applied as well, as requested. Well done Yan! Top marks!
