The Packet - Cardiff - Photo album

Lovely traditional style pub playing a great play list. We visited during a downpour afternoon midweek, so it was quiet but great vibe. Has screens up subtly places for those interested in the sports but doesn't have a sports bar vibe. Really liked it and great prices too.
An old-fashioned warm comfortable pub to enjoy a traditional pint. My wife and I like coming to this pub. One of the few traditional pubs to enjoy a pint in. I can't score the food because I didn't eat here.
Dropped in before Gig in Portland House (Vault) good atmosphere friendly staff & customers. Not posh just normal pub with a mix of characters & a DJ playing old school classic singalong. Inexpensive proper boozer.
Brilliant pub by mermaid quay. Popped in for what was meant to be an hour after a Chinese but ended up staying til the end. The people were friendly and felt like a regular and the staff were great as it's the first time I've ever been here. It's a good proper pub in the heart of the bay if you want
One of the last proper traditional boozers left in Cardiff! Recently been taken over by a lovely landlord who has given it new life! So welcoming, clean, tidy with a lively atmosphere! Drinks are a great price too! Will defo be going more often!
Superb pint of Guinness in The Packet. I'm from Cardiff and can't believe I've never set foot in here before. Definitely missed out!! Very well kept pub in a lovely old building.
A (mostly) ungentrified pub with a good choice of beverage and lots of big screens, which made it a comfortable place to watch sport and enjoy our evening. The ladies behind the bar do a great job. Recommended.
Our initial stop was to get of the rain. To our surprise the heating was on and we were able to dry out. A good range of beer, larger and cider was available together with friendly welcoming staff encouraging us to stay for the afternoon. We didn't have food.
Better than it’s been in ages. Great beer and welcome from Landlady Tracey. Proper pub. Look forward to seeing more improvements.
A nice atmosphere in the only proper old pub I could find in the area. I didn't like the first beer I ordered, but the landlord kindly swapped it for another one.
Staff are lovely, very reasonable drink prices. New owner is fabulous!! A*** would deffo go again
We walked in and there was a 'Wake'. We hesitated ready to leave as we didnt feel right intruding but, we were made to feel so welcome and to stay, even offered food. You just dont get many places like that so thankyou to all who were celebrating someones departure from life who made us so very welc
Absolutely a brilliant time. The new management has definitely turned it in the right direction! Can’t wait to come back!
Best Guinness I've had in Cardiff easily. Lovely landlord too. Cheers Ryan!
A friendly pub, plenty of seating, loads of room. Friendly bar staff and steeped in history. One of the last original docks pubs in the area
Great pub on the edge of mermaid quay. Lovely original finishes remain throughout, nice little beer garden and plenty of TVs to watch a range of sports. Lovely atmosphere and friendly bar staff with great selection of drinks available. Would definitely stop here again
Excellent old skool traditional pub. The landlord knows how to make a friendly atmosphere in an area full of "bars" not pubs.
Stopped for a drink and what a lovely olddy worldy pub. Great service and plenty of TV screens to watch sport.
Can't fault it. A traditional pub. No pretence. What you see is what you get.
