The Sandringham Hotel

Stayed here for two nights and it was excellent. The staff were kind, the building was super secure too. The room was very quaint and dated as people say but I definitely think it's part of the charm. The bed was comfy, they supplied tea and coffee and the shower was very good! I loved staying here, would definitely again :) thank you !!

Lovely hotel with and equally lovely staff. Had the pleasure to stay here one night but would've happily stayed longer. The location is amazing and the price is honestly a steal. I've payed more for hostels than this hotel! The rooms may be a bit dated but everything is clean and well taken care of. The complimentary tea and coffee in the room was the cherry on top.

Was it a 5 star hotel? No. But it doesn’t pretend to be. It was however a decent 2 star hotel for the price. Yes, it's dated, but it was clean and had character, and it made a nice change from the soulless chain hotels I normally stop in. Support independent family run hotels (& book direct via their website) and stay here. 😊

This is the only hotel I ever stay in in Cardiff! I’ve been coming to this hotel since I was a young lad with my parents and I still come to it to this day! The staff are fantastic, really kind, lovely people who do everything to accommodate anyone. The location is the best in all of Cardiff, you’re right in the centre so you can get anywhere by walking. I’m excited to visit again and see the lovely team!

The Sandringham Hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of the city centre, just about 5 minutes away from Cardiff Central station 🚉 and another 5 minutes walk from Cardiff Castle 🏰 the Cardiff Market is right next door and there are dozens of nice cafés and pubs around for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Yes, the building is old, the walls quite thin and the rooms rather small and old-fashioned... but if you know what to expect it's perfect value-for-money. Try to ask for a room facing towards the backside... no view but comparably quiet at night 😴 As it's a family run hotel, try to book via their website and not through a third-party... they will appreciate it a lot 🙂 A brilliant location, very nice staff... both thumbs up 👍👍

Can’t say enough good things about this little hotel. Our room was basic, but incredibly clean and comfortable—my biggest priority when choosing lodging. The location was ideal, and close to many restaurants, shops, and attractions—it would be easy to never leave the area! What stood out to us the most was reception—every staff member we met was kind, overwhelmingly helpful, and an overall joy to talk to. I also felt extremely safe. I would 100% book again and cannot recommend this place enough. You never know what you’re gonna get with budget hotels, but this was outstanding.

Had the most lovely interaction with staff at the reception, immediately felt like visiting my best friend's house. Room really had anything you could need. Bathtub even had anti slip protection, very useful. Location is fabulous, it was great for two students on a budget too. If you can, book directly with them.
