My most favourite place to go, great atmosphere especially when there is a band or function. Great food, hugely portions at a reasonable price. Service good, staff lovely and Linda and Dave great hosts! Don't listen to the cock and bull of the 2 previous posts! They may have just been unlucky, which is highly unlikely! Never had bad food never seen any trouble! Love it xx
I can highly recommend if your looking for typical country pub with home cooked proper food and friendly staff. Have been here on several occasions for Sunday lunch and we've always been welcomed by the Landlady as if we were regulars and our food as been outstanding on each visit.
Went here today for Sunday lunch and it was phenomenal!
Very well presented, cooked to perfection and tasted outstanding.
The service was fluid and very well managed. Kudos to the front of house staff and waiting team. We were made to feel welcome in a lovely family run pub.
Hands down the best Sunday lunch I've had in a long long time! Highly recommended and we will 100% be returning.

Haven't been to the pub for years even if I leave 5 minutes walks away
Since the ownership changed recently it looks like I can only hear good things about it.
I have twice in the last two weeks for the pub quiz.
Can't say a lot about the food yet but the chips are really nice 🙂.
The ambience during the quiz is really good and it's nice to see the village back in the pub.

Sept 2023. New owner and what a difference it has made. Nothing is a problem. Great service. And great food. So pleased this pub has been rejuvenated by the new owner.
Stopped here for a quick pint with my sister as the Lewis arms in Pentyrch was closed for some reason. Hadn’t been here for years, but will definitely visit again. Excellent pint of Guinness 😊
Love beer selection. Popped in for a quickunxh bite. Lovely pizza and quick service. Just what we wanted. Will be going back for more lunches and hopefully the odd evening too.
Visited a few times recently following an evening walk in the local countryside, welcoming pub with a nice beer garden.
Good to see that they are following Covid guidelines fully including taking contact details for track and trace (very few pubs doing this at the moment!). Will be back again.
Excellent service...food was outstanding..
Take away (pick-up and go) fish and chips was excellent. Really crisp batter, both salad and peas accompanying, huge portion - we saved half the chips to reheat the next day. £7.50 a portion is the same as the more upmarket fish and chips in west Cardiff but this was better.
Amazing food at great value esp Sunday Roast. Being an ale drinker i was extremly happy to find Doombar and a nice Brains on the pumps. Friendly staff make you feel most welcome. Nice beer garden for the summer. Good quiz on a tuesday. The place is nice, clean and tidy.. a great pub!
