Had a very satisfying meal. Prompt friendly service by knowledgeable staff. Can recommend the Cali pale ale, which was fresh and crisp. Had the lamb duo which was delicious followed by the honey pot dessert that tastes as sweet as it looks! The quality was surprisingly good for the very reasonable prices. We had some last minute delays in our travel plans and were pleasantly surprised when we found this lovely place.

Good options for vegans. Staff were lovely, it was busy and clearly popular. Food was incredible and it was nicely decorated too!
Good value for money, I had a soft drink, small wine, starter and main and was ~£25 and my sister had more expensive main and starter with a soft drink for £30.
Busy road to cross with little pavement if you come from Miskin Manor but really lovely place!

Very pleasant lunch in a lovely pub. Service was excellent, food was fabulous and staff were very helpful and efficient. Wonderful to see a pub so very dog friendly. Definitely worth a visit, with or without pooches.

Excellent service, we were shown our table, and drinks order was immediately taken. Our food arrived hot and delicious, and we asked for extra gravy, which was quickly brought. We debated about dessert, but settled on “ the honey pot” oh my days it was gorgeous ! Beautiful chocolate pot, filled with the most amazing mousse and honeycomb, fabulous honey ice cream and shortbread biscuit ! Overall it was a wonderful meal, not our first time visiting, and definitely not our last. Compliments to the chef/ kitchen staff, and restaurant staff, you’re doing an excellent job.

Food cooked to perfection! Service was very good to start but as it got busier we were left waiting and had to chase our coffees up. Delicious food. Surroundings very nice indeed. Fantastic that my friends dog could join us and there was a doggy menu. My guests were extremely impressed.

Very good, but some room for improvement.
Food is very nice, and innovative - very impressed with that. Nice atmosphere too.
Unfortunately food seems to come at a premium now, but that's the way of the world now.
Service generally good, though I did notice staff seem to natter to customers who they consider friends, at the expense of other customers.
On arrival, one member of staff seemed to be saying a very prolonged goodbye to a customer who was leaving.
Also it took about 15 minutes to obtain our bill, since our waitress was nattering with customers on another table (about a variety of things not relevant to service). She then went to another table before coming to us. We asked another member of staff for our bill, but to no avail.
So I will therefore say, eyes were off the ball towards the end of our visit.

Honey pot pud strong flavoured laté.
The taste was home made.
The service was prompt very friendly & respectful. Greeted warmly upon arrival
Menus presented & asked for our choice of drinks I was pleasantly surprised by the large fresh Peroni Nasturo. Did we have any allergies? Before our choice was taken.

Food was lovely! Best burger I have had in a long time! Second time we have been here, and food has not disappointed. Staff are very friendly & asked if we had any problems with our food.
Only slight criticism, service was a little slow for bill etc, but other than that, will definitely be coming back!

What a fantastic meal and experience. Been in the past but the new Manager has brought the place alive . It's had a new lease of life . With Lorraine at the helm the business will go from strength to strength. Thanks for a fantastic Sunday lunch .

Went recently for Sunday lunch at the Castell Mynach with the family (two adults, two kids under 6), and had a fab couple of hours. Food is good, and the facilities are clean with a cosy feel. Received excellent customer service from the waitress, and prices are reasonable. I’ve been to the Castell Mynach about 4 or 5 times in total, and always found it to be consistently good - so would recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable pub meal with the family, or just a quiet drink with a friend. The parking outside can be tight when it’s busy, so that’s probably the main draw back for me - but overall a solid 4 stars

The food was amazing! So fresh. The service was brilliant too. I love the surroundings in the Castell Mynach, there’s always a lovely atmosphere.

The food was very well presented and tasted delicious. The staff were courteous and nothing was too much trouble. I have busted the Castell Mynach several times and the standard has always been excellent

From the moment we sat down to the moment we left it was Class!
First the beer, Estrella on tap one of my most Favourite beers!
I ordered the 10oz Ribeye steak medium, waited a while (but I love that, you know everything is cooked fresh..
Plus it was VERY busy)
Steak was cooked to perfection also had they're take on an onion loaf which was amazing, grilled tomato seasoned triple cooked chips and peppercorn sauce which was stunning!

My plate was devoured.. 10/10 from me..

Don't understand the negative reviews! Have eaten here regularly for last 16 years. Food always good, cosy pub atmosphere and seating. Varied menu and staff pleasant and helpful. The food is served all day, which is great for those of us who often eat outside regular meal times Lovely fire was burning in the fireplace when we had lunch there yesterday and we really enjoyed our meal

Very poor. Miserable staff ... bar man didn't even turn to face me when I first arrived and talked from back of his head. Picked up my drink stained paper menu to order. Went for the 8oz rump in ciabatta. Ordered medium...came well, well done. No excuse! The steak is sliced for the sandwich so it not being medium was so obvious. No garnish and was all very dry. Won't be back. They don't care.

Extremely disappointing. Girl behind bar was welcoming. It went down hill from there. Ordered starter and main course. Pate came with very little bread and poor presentation. While eating starter informed that our mains were on a warming plate. Felt rushed. Then steak was dry and very tough and not cooked to preferred taste, sauce lukewarm, onion rings soggy. The fish cake main looked like it had just been thrown onto plate. Will not be returning.

Our booking was for 7.30pm, arrived about 5 minutes early. No meet and seat, so we're left standing at the bar area where no one even looked at us. After asking at the bar we were told "I'll get to you" and the about 5 minutes later he pointed to a table around the corner.
Eventually when we were seated at around 8.25 our order was taken. There were five of us and there were 4 of our orders unavailable. The bottle of Prosecco ordered was sitting in a bucket of water, asked for a towel, so we wouldn't drip over everyone - feel sure if I was sitting there now, nearly 24 hours later, I would still be waiting for that towel.
Mediocre is all I can muster for the food they did have available. We left without pudding and won't be back.
The only reason it's got two stars is because the waitress tried and because the faults in the service created huge hilarity between us all.
Oh by the way, no toilet paper in either of the toilets - very bad indeed.

Sunday lunch for my wife who does not eat meat was dreadful, £8.00 for 3 carrots, a roast parsnip, a spoonful of cabbage, 4 (small) roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding that was not even edible . I had the roast beef duo, the beef was very nice, the veg however left a lot to be desired, sorry but we will not be coming back again.

Lovely (veggie) food, good atmosphere in casual bar - would go back.

Food was nice. But they need to sack the cleaner. It presented very grubby. We were the first ones in as it opened there were lumps of bread and food on the floor everywhere. The toilets were very grubby. The whole place was grubby and in need of a clean
