It's a touch expensive but for the extra expense the food really does taste absolutely lovely the chips were great and as was the rap I had but the crowning achievement of the absolutely lovely milkshakes and smoothies although Tim hortons is know for its coffee the coffee didn't appeal to me nearly as much

Having a Canadian wife and spending time in Canada I already have a love for Tim Hortons. Luckily this weekend I found myself in Cardiff so made a special pilgrimage to the news Albany Road Tim Hortons. After finally finding parking (difficult to find on a Saturday) I went in, ordered an original blend coffee, chipotle steak BBQ roll, potato wedges and a Canadian maple donut. I was not disappointed. The food an especially donut were amazing. The service, though not fast food quick was good, friendly and speedy. The restaurant was clean, stylish and had free WiFi (always a bonus). Onto the coffee. I am a coffee lover, from espresso, through to a chocolate mocha, however sometimes I crave something simple a nice filter coffee, which was what I ordered (they do also serve all the European style coffee's too). It was really nice and drinkable. Hot, not too strong with a great mellow flavour. I would recommend this place to anyone, but especially to those bored of the standard coffee shops. I hope that they open up stores nearer to me!

As my first time visiting a Tim Horton's store, there was a rather long wait and only two people available to serve. It took about half an hour to be served from walking in. With that being said, the food was nice and my iced coffee was enjoyable. Although the prices were a bit too much for me personally.

Decent cup of coffee. Slightly different offering when compared to other coffee chains with a more 'fast food' feel (all paper cups and lots of grilled sandwiches and panini). No power points or charging sockets as far as I could see so not first choice for the types who sit in the coffee shop all day with an espresso for the free electricity!

I *love* Tim Hortons coffee - great antidote to the overdone plethora of fancy coffees to be found in some coffee chains (sometimes using sugar to mask the bitter taste). It's also a lot cheaper than the coffee often is at the big coffee chains. Service at Albany Road has been generally good so far. It understandably varies a little with new staff and unexpectedly busy periods but I always feel that people are doing their best. The opening hours were reduced recently to close a little earlier which is a shame but I'd rather have shorter hours than not at all. While I don't have the sweetest tooth, their doughnuts are rather good (do yourself a favour and try them instead of Krispy Kreme). Timbits are great to buy for a group as you get a taste of a dough nut without eating a whole one (unless of course, you eat a box to yourself). They've done a decent job of expanding their menu without going crazy, so you can get a simple bit to eat too. But really, it's all about the coffee and the doughnuts.

The latest store opening by Tim Hortons in Cardiff happened at midday on 22 February with a large queue of customers waiting around the block. The Famous Canadian Coffee and Donuts chains' Albany Road branch is a good size in the former Shoe Zone unit with plenty of seating including two seat tables with power nearby at the back of the location and higher bench seating and few comfy chairs at the front. They have a couple of highchairs available for kids of your need them and the decor is light, clean well lit and modern. Although Tim Hortons are most famous for their coffee (they sell eight in every ten cups of coffee sold on their native Canada) and donuts they have a good hot food offering as well, with a selection including paninis, wraps, Sandwiches and Chilli all served with wedges and either a coffee, tea, cooler or frozen lemonade, all made fresh to order. A word of warning for those new to Tim Hortons coffee, if you don't like strong coffee, don't order the dark roast. Although it's my favourite coffee it's a lot darker than most other companies offerings so if you like a light roast you would be better ordering their original blend. All in all a great location that I'm sure is going to be a hit with Roath/Cathays locals and Students alike.
