Miserable, wet weather, sat here with a box of chips, this place is spotlessly clean, the chicken & chips I opted for is a solid 8/10.
More pleasant are the staff that work here, you can see the pride they take in their jobs, all too often we see “heel draggers” in the hot food industry, these guys are light on their feet, polite, courteous and attentive. The only reason why I’ve come here to write a review is purely that it is actually refreshing to see people at work who ooze pride & confidence in their industry! Keep up the good work!

Fantastic fish and chip shop! Far and away the best chip shop in the area. We have to travel past other chip shops to get to here but will always make the effort. Since it opened we wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. The food is excellent and the staff are always friendly and courteous.
The food is sometimes amazing but they're very inconsistent. I've had many different versions of what you would call a fried chicken breast, although to be fair the last few have been great. The cod used to be awesome but the last few have been undercooked with very soggy batter. Consistency is usually the one thing you always get from a chippy, so it's odd but they do seem to have a large turnover of staff so perhaps that's why. I will say though, when they get it right, there's no better chippy around

Good fish cooked fresh takes time and it's not an unpleasant wait what with BBC news channel and watching life go by on Cowbridge Road...and it is good fish and chips. Other chippies will have to step up their game to compete. Hope they do cus competition is a good thing.
I have given 5 this time! Fintans can be a bit hit and miss, like any takeaway! But I had a large chips with a Clarks pie and gravy and it was lush! Friendly and helpful service. Especially as I had a 13 person order!
The best fish shop so far in Cardiff. The food is fresh and doesnt smell and taste like old oil. Prices are reasonable. I like that in front of the shop is free for 1 hour parking.
All fish and chip shops these days seem to be 'award winning', Fintans is certainly popular and always seems to be busy. It's clean and well kept, with a nice range of options including battered Mars bars, battered cauliflower, pineapple fritters... I like the quality of the code and the chips, compares well with other shops locally.
5* - good staff, young chap on Saturdays good character and very patient. Best chips I've had in Cardiff and fish finger bites are top
Nice fish and chips with a slightly "premium" feel. Reminds me a lot of the old Harry Ramsdens down in the Bay when it first opened. Not least because you get your fish and chips in a box.
