This is a pretty big place, with multiple areas to choose from - there's a cozy area by the bar, an open and a closed one skirting the beer garden, and the beer garden itself.
The food served is surprisingly good and the on-tap drinks options uncommonly varied.
Four Elms seems to be mainly frequented by locals, giving it a great unique charm and ambience. Sporting events are always screened with a baffling amount of available TVs to enjoy the events on (15+).
There's no table service, although the food is brought to the table once ready, but the bar staff is fast and always nice.
Highly recommended.
Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s probably one of the best pubs I’ve ever been in. Fantastic variety and selection of drinks, friendly staff and such a large pub, with a lot of large screens to watch football, variety of seating area both inside and outside. I didn’t get any food but even that looked top notch.
Great local Camra pub which has good range of lagers, beers and ciders amongst other things. Good pub grub too, including a good value Sunday carvery. Pub has lots of tvs for watching sport plus a fab beer garden.
What a hidden gem…got to be one of the best kept secrets in Cardiff!
Staff and manager were super-helpful, chatty and friendly, always a bonus.
Range of beers on draft was brilliant, from ales to lagers, with Shipyard APA on tap the night I was there…nice :)
Food is classic pub grub, massive portions and very tasty all round.
Looks quite small from the outside, but looks can be deceiving…a lovely bar area opens up into a large pub with an equally large garden.
A busy Friday night makes for a great atmosphere, lovely buzz and vibe to the whole place.
Thanks guys, a great evening out :)
Voodoo Ranger hazy IPA to accompany the blisteringly hot Voodoo Ranger Burger. So hot, the barman makes certain that you read the menu warning and checks that you really, really want to order it!
Friendly pub but not so great for parking for an out of towner.
We visited this pub for the first time for lunch on a Friday as our daughter had moved to Cardiff recently. It was quite popular. The menu selection was varied. We chose a burger, and bangers and mash, and both were excellent. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was too. Will definitely be back!
Welcomed by charming and well informed barstaff.
Unable to comment on food as I only popped in for a quick pint
Excellent selection of beers
Served well, orange in blue moon etc.
We went for lunch on a sunny autumn day and the beer garden is awesome.
The service was good and safe.
There is a great selection of beers and ciders.
We ate burger, too dry for our taste but the chips were good.
A pub that doesn’t get half the love it should. Massive outdoor seating area, solid selection of beer, some proper dirty (in the right way) food that goes perfect with a few beers. Bar staff are always a laugh. Manages to feel like a proper pub without the outsider feel.
Great proper Cardiff pub!
The Four Elms is a classic Cardiff pub with a friendly atmosphere, suitable for all drinking generations.
The inside of the pub has a classic ‘old boy’ feel where you have great viewing access to screens to watch the sport, and towards the rear of the pub, in the old skittle ally, there is plenty of quieter seating for eating and escaping the football if needed.
Great food with modern twists, pub classics and big portions; very good Sunday roast too!
The outdoors area is my favourite and probably one of the best beer gardens Cardiff has to offer!
The beer garden has under cover seating with heaters around the edge of the pub, plenty of on grass seating too and occasionally a semi permanent tipi (especially during the sport seasons)
No small children (but call ahead to make sure), dogs welcome (but in the garden only).
Serves real ale and great phone signal.
