This place is a hidden gem, based in Windsor place cardiff, its perfect for birthdays and family meals and a must for a romantic dinner. Waitresses were so helpful and friendly. The menu is stylish and full of mouth watering dishes. I went for the slow roasted pork belly with green beans, colcanon mash grain mustard sauce . It was amazing , full of flavour . I highly recommend you try this , you won't be disappointed 😋👍
Dined in for a 3 course Sunday lunch. The king scallops to start were among the best I've ever had, big and so full of flavour. Roast Lamb was great and the panacotta very tasty. Excellent service, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
One of a few restaurants that are open on Sunday evening in Cardiff. But be awarw that their kitchen still closes at 7PM on Sunday, so it's better to book for 6PM latest.
We can recommend their chorizo soup, and Creme Brule with figs is a nice surprise.
Overall, great gastropub.
We had a lovely dinner here! Ordered some wine and seafood risottos and some starters. The seafood cocktail had a bit too much mayo for my liking and risotto generously sprinkled with green peas. Otherwise the sea-bass fillet was excellent. The restaurant is cozy and staff is super friendly. I also appreciated the commitment to environmental sustainability in terms of interior decorations, hope other areas of the restaurant are also catching up on this pledge ;)
What a find. Beautiful old building. Spaced seating. Gorgeous wines by the glass. Cocktails too. The food is wonderful. Bit more veggie, maybe. The chef came out to meet us. Ambience and food are charming. See you again soon.
What an epic find!!! Probably THE best steak ever, absolutely spot on. Bit pricey but worth every penny for a special treat. Scallops to start, gorgeous, followed by rib steak, best ever, with pistachio brownie to end (humongous serving!). The pork was amazing as was the Eton mess and the cheeseboard. Lovely atmosphere, not rushed, attentive service (they even gave us Christmas crackers as it was our Christmas shopping day!) Perfect end to the day, can't thank the staff enough from the servers to the chef, first class!
I really enjoyed the moment I had in the restaurant for my boyfriend's birthday. The space is lovely and the menu makes me feel like tasting everything! We both enjoyed the piece of lamb with the excellent and tasty sauce. The service was very friendly and thoughtful, even including a candle for the dessert (they remembered my request when I booked). Look forward for coming back!
I just came in for the rack of lamb. It was superb. Service was really welcoming. Nice vibe. Very clean restaurant.
Nice dinner at the Daffodil! The place is really cosy and well decorated. Food was quite nice, a bit on the pricier side but really enjoyable. Perfect service.
Highly recommend the mackerel rillettes and sticky toffee pudding.
Full marks on all counts.. I visited late afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were so friendly and helpful and although I did not eat my son informed me that his meal was delicious. I also noticed there was a good variety of GF options (and vegan and vegetarian) which made me mark the establishment as one to visit again if only to sample the gluten free fare.
Would I visit again.. oh yes! Would I recommend Daffodil .. oh yes!!
