Bentra Grill

What can I say about The Bentra Grill... Conveniently located close to the A2, Whitehead, Northern Ireland, 12 of us ( including my 3 grandkids ) went to The Bentra for a Boxing Day dinner. The environs were pleasant and unobtrusive; the food was absolutely exceptional as was the service. I can't recall ever going to an establishment where the starter and main course were so delicious, fresh, more than plentiful ( I have a significant appetite yet I couldn't finish mine!! ) and piping hot! This was followed by a delicious and, again, fresh dessert and coffee. To top it all, and considering the menu, the price made the evening extremely good value for money ( You could go to Belfast and perhaps pay twice as much or more for what we received ). The staff were extremely friendly, pleasant and extremely accommodating ( nothing was too much trouble ), very efficient and the service was quick. It's possible to remember an establishment for all the wrong reasons, but in this case I'll remember The Bentra for the very best of reasons!

Great food! Tasted amazing, turkey and ham cooked to perfection. Very tasty. Roast beef tasted very nice with the gravy, and the child’s chicken strips and chips looked very nice. Desserts were very nice, we had pavlova and chocolate fudge cake. Very well done. Only reason for four stars was service was quite slow, we came at around 6:30pm. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone and it is quite local! Very nice will definitely be coming back.

Saturday evening meal, the food was very taste and ample portions. My starter was chilli n garlic prawns and for my main course I'd chicken and half a rack of ribs with a bowl of chunky chips and coleslaw. My hubby had the full rack of ribs n chips. We really enjoy the food in a very friendly atmosphere. My only concern was the level of heat in the restaurant. It was far too warm. I then discovered that where I was seating there was a radiator behind the built in seating which the staff had no way of regulating.

Recently returned home from holiday and treated ourselves to a meal in Bentra Grill and it didn't disappoint. The staff couldn't do enough and the food was up there with the best in the area. Gorgeous view over the golf course and relaxing atmosphere. Despite being busy the food came out in no time and the fillet steak was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.
