Wow. What a wonderful place. From start to finish amazing. Really friendly and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. The food was fantastic. Every mouthful a flavour sensation which was presented to please the eye as well. Portions were just right. Enough to feel you've eaten a decent meal without being too big that you cannot make it through three courses. Which would be a real shame as every course is just as good as the last. The price is extremely reasonable too for such a high quality of menu. It's also dog friendly! We will definitely return.

I came here with some family for a birthday the staff were all lovely. The waitress came running to the car when we left a birthday card at the table 😊. Food was very nice my mum got the duck which she enjoyed a lot. I ordered the main vegetarian (no meat or fish) dish which was Thai noodles. The only negative I would say is they ran out of the only vegan dessert which was a little disappointing because I have lactose intolerance but the other ones my table ordered had gave good reviews.

Out for a drive so stopped here for Sunday lunch. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Our belly pork starter was very tasty but we were a bit disappointed with the main we thought the roast potatoes were a bit hard I wondered if they had been warmed up I apologise if I'm wrong. And it's the first time I've had a Sunday lunch with one slice of meat having said that it was very tender. So just a couple of negatives really

Lovely place nicely decorated. Staff are attentive without being intrusive which is great and it can be hard to get the right balance.

12 months after our first visit & back on the North Yorkshire Moors. Would be rude not to revisit the Eskdale for a cheeky pint. As before lovely service, great pint & food menu looks as interesting & appetising as before.
Would certainly recommend as we ate here twice on our previous visits & the food was superb.

Ya gotta EAT HERE! Best burger I have EVER had in the UK! My wife and I visited Saltburn By the Sea and were driving to Westerdale to see the purple heather when she yelled STOP THE CAR! We popped into The Eskdale -- it was an awesome experience. The burger was SOOOO good, and the fish (n chips) was bigger than the 14 inch plate, and meaty, and tasty. Highly recommended! We have had lunch at The Eskdale twice this week , while staying in Castleton and from the Welcome to the great service and fab food ,we would definitely recommend The Eskdale for a stop at lunch or and Evening Meal and drinks.

Classic quaint country pub, lovely outside in the sun, been done out recently too and to a great standard. Didn't get food but the menu looks good.

Lovely warm welcome, remarkable lunch offering. The terrine with Stilton was wonderful and the pork belly really tender.
The bouillabaisse was very light and the fish cooked perfectly.
Really enjoyed the lime marmalade ice cream with a double chocolate tart.
A real gem.

Fantastic meal, beautifully prepared and very friendly staff! Highly recommend the pork belly or farmhouse terrains as starters. The bouillabaisse was amazing and the dark chocolate tart to die for !
