The Hildyard Arms - Catterick - Photo album

I love finding proper old pubs, I live a walk of an evening when I get parked up and was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn’t just a boutiquey type eat only establishment. I’ll be back, thanks for the hospitality and also to the chap with the cocker in the corner for attentioning my empty glass -
I spent the first night out camping, which is free. I arrived after the pub was closed and decided to setup camp in the back. I took a day break here on my coast to coast. As I awoke the next morning it was down pouring. The Owner came to check on me multiple times and was extremely kind and welcomi
Camped in the garden here for free as a Coast To Coast hiker (perhaps 50 mins walk beyond Richmond centre, right on the trail). The landlady and landlord were very friendly as were other punters in the pub. There's a shower room and toilet around the back which was very nice. They weren't serving fo
We stopped here on the Coast to Coast walk and slept in one of the shepherd's huts. It was cosy, clean, and warm! Bridget made us a delicious dinner and breakfast and made us feel so welcome. We had a great time! Great shower for campers to use.
After reading a review on this place I decided to push on from Richmond and camp here. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by a member of staff who quickly showed my round the site and facilities. Once I was pitched and showered I popped into the pub for a drink where I was greeted by all the locals
I am Guinness. Coast to coast. Very fun Dewey badgers
Stayed in the shepherds huts here for 2 nights whist touring the country on motorcycles. They are well priced, clean & comfortable. The Staff look after you well and apart from being Northern the locals are alright too. Great little pub with a great atmosphere, highly recommended!
One of the best places I stayed during my coast to coast trip while camping. The pub is located on the trail so you can't miss it. There is a big garden in the back for pitching a tent and the toilet/shower facilities are better then they are on some 'professional' campsites. Staff here are very fri
My wife and I visited from Bedfordshire to attend a friend's 80th birthday party, which the Hildyard Arms also hosted. Good beer, good food and we were made very welcome. We stayed in a cabin which was clean, tidy and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. Whenever I overnight, I always loo
The new landlord John goes the extra mile to keep his customers happy he keep the pub nice and clean and he always welcomes you with a big smile . A perfect pint
Lovely pub with fab customer service. I used to work there and know first hand that the staff will go above and beyond for the customers. Reece and Mike are lovely, Ange is a sweet heart and Brigette is so welcoming and her food is fab. The regulars all know how to have a good time and would welcome
One of the best places I stayed while doing the coast to coast walk, with camping in the back beer garden. The pub is right on the trail so you can't miss it.The staff are amazingly helpful. I arrived late and missed the food, but they gave me a number for a local takeaway great facilities and very
Popped into the Hildyard arms on our Coast to Coast trip and had a wonderful stay over in the pub garden! We were welcomed and well looked after by Bridget and the team and will be sure to stop in again next time we're in the area. 10/10. We arrived a little late on and although they had stopped ser

Great location at the end of day nine of the coast to coast. With free camping when you use the pub for a few wind down beers. They kept kitchen open for us too so we had a lovely meal too. Land lord was up and serving a massive full English breakfast for us in the morning to fill us on our way to c
I had a (good) coffee here while doing a part of the Coast to Coast Path. Relaxed atmosphere. A friendly place. Quiet location down by the river but no views. Modest prices. I was sitting on the terrace. Calm place and very nice to sit there.
We've just call in for a great meal and good friendly service. We've enjoyed the time we spent in the Hildyard Arms thank you to all the staff and costumer. Cheers Alan Williams builder .
