I booked a Christmas meal for a group of friends at the king rufus and from the start Gemma and Matt couldn't be more helpful. They booked their function room for us as we were a big group, they were there every step of the way to help us with one of our group who had allergies and couldn't eat everything from the Christmas menu. They answered any queries and questions we had, whenever we had them. When it can to the 13th Dec (the night of the meal) our table was beautifully laid, with our bottles of bubbly that came free if we booked for over a certain amount of people. Gemma came and opened them for us as our wonderful hostess. The starters were delivered once we were all seated, our main meal was delicious and was hot and when one of our party asked for me veg it was delivered, we were also lucky to get more yummy roast potatoes. They desserts were delicious.
Matt and Gemma did a wonderful job organising their Christmas meal and nothing was too much trouble. Our group has never been to the same place two years in a row for a christmas meal, however for Christmas 2017 I think we will definitely be returning here again!! Thank you to you both for a wonderful evening.
Hi I visited lunch time today 23/11/23. I had a chicken and bacon sandwich and my whole lunch was simply perfect. The young man (Robert) who looked after me was friendly, helpful and had a good sense of humour. My sandwich made by Charmaine I think was the name Robert told me, was delightful. When I'm working in the area again I WILL be back.....
Popped in for lunch while in the area, greeted straight away by bubbly friendly staff. Enjoyed our drinks in the garden and didn't wait long for food. Calamari was tender and crispy and the spicy sauce was very tasty. Ultimate Mac and cheese didn't look all that, but was I wrong. Strong cheesy flavour, plenty of sauce and insta worthy cheese pull. Katsu chicken curry was crispy and tasty, rice was flavourful and not dry like many places.

I came to this pub for the first time and my experience was amazing. Food was great and Kamila one of the waitresses made our experience even better, amazing staff and great food! Would definitely recommend

Really kind helpful staff who solved an issue for me. The barman and the manageress were very kind and understanding of my ignorance and helped me out in a big way. Just wanted to express my thanks. The pub seemed very friendly when I visited only twice for a quick drink after work. There did seem a lot of happy patrons in there that I can say. The lager was cold too 👍
The food was good and well priced, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of car parking and seating indoors as well as a smoking area.
My experience here was alright. I definitely recommend the Hunters Chicken. The service is good and not to slow. It’s very kid-friendly and has a variety to offer. One of the best things I found was the Quiz nights at 7:30 on Sundays.
We visited Tuesday evening. Polite staff and made to feel very welcome. We both had the steak sandwich which was very good and extremely filling. It was served with fries which were also delicious. A small salad between us was sufficient to add to the meal, A little bit of a wait but all in all, very nice.
I've eaten at the King Rufus many times and it's always been fine. This evening's experience was exceptionally good because of our server, Izzie. She was cheerful and friendly throughout and could not have done more for us. Thank you Izzie for looking after us so well.
Lunch menu was very reasonably priced and of a good quality. Our server Kamila was very friendly and efficient.
