Have eaten there several lunchtimes now.
Food is always freshly cooked and the menu is reassuringly small.
Daily specials are always interesting and often quite unusual.
It's also remarkably good value for money.
Both the owner/chef and those serving are friendly and helpful.
It is a far better place to eat than the many "out of the freezer into the microwave" places which seem to be everywhere.

A small, but friendly cafe. Great food and energetic chef in the kitchen.
What really set this place apart from many others was how they dealt with errors in service.
I ordered a bacon, brie and onion ciabatta. When it arrived they'd forgot to add the bacon. When I mentioned it, they immediately brought me our the bacon, and said my meal would not be charged for.
Not only did the food taste great, but the way the dealt with the mistake was exemplary. Hence this being a 5-star rating.

The staff were lovely. The food was great, when it arrived. The extra pot of tea we ordered took so long that we had to leave. Really glad that they're busy, but some stuff needed yo be slicker.

We stopped here whilst out walking around Chapel en la Frith yesterday 13/09/2020. It was a lovely day so we sat outside. We were served by two lovely young girls and given a very extensive menu. The food was lovely and very well presented. We couldn’t believe how cheap it was too. We’d definitely recommend the Stocks cafe if you’re in this area. If you sit outside you will be sitting right next to the town stocks!

Had a wonderful lunch here today. Food was delicious. Staff were fantastic. Even though they were due to close they didn't rush us, and brought out warm amazing chocolate brownies for free.. Thoroughly recommend this delightful Cafe.

Had Afternoon tea here as a treat by my daughters. What a warm friendly welcome we had. From start to end we had first class service and the Sandwiches and cakes were very tasty and filling.would highly recommend . Will be back to sample more tasty meals
