Only so often you visit a restaurant or shop that stun you with their customer care and attention. Polignano in Chelmsford is such a place. Over the past months I visited the restaurant on a number of occasions, on various days and in various company. Time after time the food was amazing and the customer attention high. This week I checked whether they could accommodate my wife's FODMAP/paleo diet, which is a tough challenge for many restaurants. Not at Polignano! The whole meal was adjusted to what my wife can and can't eat, resulting in an amazing meal with sea bass and vegetables.
I suggest all big chains (Italian and non Italian) to visit this place and learn what real customer care means, combined with great produce. Their example is already featuring in my own training sessions on customer excellence.
Polignano stands out in many ways. For me already the discovery of 2018!
Our fifth visit and still as good as ever. Delicious food, good friendly service and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Desserts to die for! And our red wine was really good, can’t remember which one it was.

Decided to try this place as I've been to the town in Italy. Food was lovely, staff friendly and very helpful. Had a lovely chat with one if the waitresses. She recommended the restaurant across the road, for dinner, same company. I will definitely try that one evening. Will also be back to the cafe too.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Authentic, delicious and generous portions. Really tasty lunch. Speck sandwich in foccacia bread was filling and delicious but the lemon tart was incredible!
We wanted to get a take away but support our local businesses during lockdown 2.0. Omg, Polignano was amazing. The food was traditional and so delicious. It was a great price and delivered quickly. I highly recommend.
Been here several times for lunch and it is excellent in every way. We plan to come for dinner very soon. Honest decent friendly staff who know their business inside our. A true family run authentic Italian. Don't walk past again. Very good value.
Food is delicious. You can eat in or take away. The Staff nice & friendly and the place has a nice vibe about it. Defiantly worth a visit.

A lovely Italian cafe/restaurant which can be found on the corner of Baddow road. The place is made very inviting by friendly caring staff who provide a great service.The place is modern and contemporary with a Italian feel.The menu is vast with various options and is cooked and served to perfection and very delicious.On entrance the aromo is wonderful.Plenty of seating upstairs.A few tables and chairs are outside in a small space. The coffee is always very good at a reasonable price too. There is a deli to make purchases and a take away service is available.A great place to go and enjoy what's on offer.They also do a cheese and wine speaking evening which is popular, not that I have tried this out yet.
Amazing little place to stumble into. Brilliant home made focaccia served with some Salami, blue cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.. a little piece of indulgent Italian heaven on a plate.

I visited the coffee shop on 20th Jan 2022 and was not disappointed. The coffee was outstanding and the food excelled my expectations of excellence. If I am in the area again I will definitely ensure that I visit this coffee shop.
Always happy to support our locally owned and run food venues, especially in these difficult times. Polignanos serves wonderful Italien dishes. Take out only atm. Highly recommend.
