Absolutely amazing and tasty food. It was clearly cooked fresh and was piping hot on collection. We very rarely eat Chinese food as it can be very greasy , however our order was non greasy, full of fresh veg and super yummy... we will be returning

China City is one of the better Chinese takeaways in chelmsford. The food is good and the don't drench their noodles in soy sauce which some of the others do. They have a wide selection of dishes on their menu and if you order over a certain amount, you get free prawn crackers which is always a bonus.

A regular treat in. our house, China City has to be one of the best Chinese take aways we've eaten from.
My only comment is the crispy chilli beef could be mixed better as sometimes the fried beef sits out of the sauce and has not been mixed in.
That being said that is the only slightly negative comment (I can mix it myself). The staff are friendly, food is always piping hot when we pick it up and get it home, and consistently tastes really good.
We can definitely recommend:

- Lemon Chicken
- Crispy Duck and Pancakes
- Special Fried Rice
- Singapore Fried Rice
- Chicken Chow Mein
A little bit gutted I'm writing this in the morning and its closed now!
I also wish they did Char Sui Buns... for me it would then be the perfect Chinese

Currently housesitting for a family member and decided to order a cheeky takeaway. I’m my 3rd this week from China City! I don’t know what magicians they have working in their kitchens, but it’s the BEST Chinese takeaway I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot!! A special shout out to the Crispy Chilli Chicken A La Peking, which is too delicious for words! I may have to move from Brentwood to Chelmsford just so I can order more regularly, haha.

Just moved into the area and we figured we would give this place a go, not knowing what to expect. My word, the food was immense. So tasty and the staff are very polite.

We have ordered food from this place in Broomfield road for the last couple of months because it’s fairly close to us and with favourable reviews and I must say we are very satisfied with the taste, the quantities and the value for money ! When they say the time of delivery they are very accurate and the food is hot and fresh and quite delicious so well done! I like spicier food so mentioned on the phone and sure enough they added a few more chillies so we could enjoy even more!

China city, what can I say. The pengest munch I've ever had. The service was amazing and the delivery has always been on time, sometimes even early. The singapore fried rice was absolutely beautiful, flavours were bussing heavy and their delivery driver Jacky is an amazing guy, always smiling.
