Me and my friend ate here last night. Food was delicious +++. The prawns on a cheesy based biscuit was to die for. The salmon was perfect. The staff are very friendly and had a good sense of humour the ambience and restaurant was just beautiful. I can highly recommend for a lovely meal with friends or a romantic evening with a loved one. Will definitely be returning.

Booked in here for a table of 18, from the moment of booking the table the staff were very friendly and helpful! Grill 49 is highly recommended with absolutely delicious food! All 18 of us were very happy with our meal and service! No confusion with the order and very quick service! Can't believe what wonderful food we got for the price! Would definitely recommend it and eat here again! Can't sing their praise enough , thanks for such a wonderful evening 😊

We found ourselves with a rare child free night and my husband fancied steak so we gave this place a go. Really quiet and cosy setting. Our waiter "magic!?"was so lovely.. really attentive, chatty but equally left alone when we needed to be, such a friendly chap. We both had the fillet steak, medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend.

Went as a group of four and had no trouble seating at the restaurant was empty. The service was great and the ambiance intimate. The ribeye was delicious and cooked exactly as requested, medium with the fat cap crispy. The triple cooked chips are definitely worth it as a side too. And don’t forget to ask for the chipotle sauce for dipping the chips. Ended with the crème brûlée and sticky toffee pudding, both of which were good. The restaurant is a bit tricky to find as it’s on the lower level and there isn’t much signage but it is worth the stop!

Nice staff, nice food. Had the squid, steak and cheesecake. Squid was ok but just squid rings. The steak was quite nice actually. The cheesecake was nice as well. One of the things to bear in mind is that this restaurant is in a lower level. I actually passed right through and was looking for it. Overall 4*

I'm a beef farmer myself, so expectations were high. They defiantly didn't dissapoint! Awesome food and staff were great and funny. Made the night even more enjoyable so much so my friend went the week after from my recommendation.

The best steak and chips ever - matches Hawkesmore any day!! Great meat, superbly cooked!! Great chips!! Fantastic welcome despite arriving 20 minutes before closing time. Still here an hour later! Cheltenham do visit!! Thanks Grill 49

We visited the restaurant during Race week. The food was delicious and the steaks were fantastic. Not many places can live up to great steak expectations. I would recommend trying Rib eye. Will be back again!

Excellent food perfectly cooked. The haloumi cheese starter and fillet were both amazing. The place reminded me of a French brasserie. Constructive advice: heat the lavatories and spring the door which doesn't close, resulting in a breeze onto nearby diners.

Great food, service and setting. We are midweek as a group of 6, the service was quick and so was the food. The food was impeccable and we will be returning.

While looking for a Great Steak restaurant in my area I came across this place. I noticed they did breakfast. Something I'm not used to. As a steakhouse I've not seen it done. So I had to try it. Told a friend to meet me there so we could sample the food. She had the eggs Royale and I had the Royal 49 breakfast which came with a steak. The poached eggs on hers where great and I asked for medium rare and got it. The coffee is ok if you don't have it as a espresso. It's not any real brand so almost like coffee at home. The restaurant is nice and cosy and staff are great. This is a great place and I will go back for a dinner.
