We recently went to Bar Padron for the 2nd time. I first went when it had just opened and thought it wa so but didnt bother going back. We thought its worth trying again. So we visited in Octover 2020 so the Covid restrictions were in place and there were 4 tables in the main area which were all nicely spread out.
The wine was very nice, clearly a decent wine.
With regards to the food, the olives were brilliant. It's the same type as The Ivy and they taste amazing.
We had quite a range of dishes and overall they were really nice. As always the Alioli was great with the bread.
The only slight negatives were the ribs had too much salt on them and after having the first one I had to brush most of it off. The mushrooms didnt have much flavour to them and needed some form of seasoning added to them.
Also for the Churros, they were slightly raw in the middle and the chocolate sauce wasnt as good as I had hoped. We let the waitress know about this so they can try and improve it.
Overall I would say it's a nice place and our bill came to about £140 for a bottle of wine, 2 pints, 2 sweet wines, olives, alioli, bread and about 8 other dishes.
Worth a try for anyone.
Terrific little tapas place. All the dishes were excellent and staff super friendly. Huervos with chorizo and the tomato salad were particular highlights.
Food is great, I was there for a birthday party so didn't get to chose what came. Out but absolutely everything was great.
Venue upstairs is well decorated or at least to my taste.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Beer was a bit pricey which is why I have left 4 stars.
A limited but tasty selection of tapas. We loved ribs, pork, Valencian salad and courgette fries in particular! Seating was not great but the service (early on a weekday evening) was quick enough to make up for that.
Tasty Spanish tapas, very friendly service even though we just walked in without reservations(not easy these days), very attentive as well. The food was nice and drinks as well. Charcuterie is awesome!
Absolutely delicious. Everything we tried was spot on and the portions were bigger than we would have thought, which is a nice problem to have in a Tapas Bar! Meant that it was all quite affordable in the end.
Served by the lovely Roberta, had some fantastic food, the Sangria especially I will recommend to everyone I know in the tapas loving world :))
Finally had the time to visit. Well worth the wait and this was brilliant. Had the paella carne with a mix of tapas, too, and the whole lot was demolished. Paella outstanding and is presented without fuss but beautifully. Service is polite, engaged, respectful and almost invisible - really adds to it. Would recommend for drinks, drinks & tapas or with the full paella. 5*.
I have just learned this is closing down for good. A massive loss for Cheltenham. Very sorry to see you go.

Bistro experience. Wow. It feels almost more Parisian than the Paris itself. Warm, cosy, film noir, ambiance with personality to spare. Efficient friendly unfussy staff. The foid. Amazing. Very French, exceptional. Will be back.
