Amazing Indian cuisine pleasantly surprised hope the pub continues to improve.
Update. All dressed up for Christmas, see new photos Traditional village pub, busy and friendly atmosphere. If you come here for food as you should, come hungry. Good choice on the menu. Large portions, tasty, properly cooked food, good choice, chunky chips. I could go on and on about how excellent the food is, but I also want to comment on the great service we had. Attentive and polite and above all quick. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful little pub tucked away.
I did travel down to see the Michael Bublé tribute singer. I looked online and noticed they had a carvery so I thought I'd grab one before hand. Was disappointed to get there to find out that it wasn't on due to a refurbishment/takeover. I just wish it was updated online as I could have gone elsewhere prior. Never mind. The pub itself is very nice. Staff are warm and welcoming and the beer went down well. Entertainment as normal was excellent, Jamie is very good at what he does.
Firstly the good things, the waitresses could not have been more pleasant and helpful! Food was good, without being exceptional, but was reasonably priced and to the quality that I would expect from a good local pub, which is what the Mary Rose is.
Little mix up with the phone order , but nothing disastrous and the tables needed rearranging to suit our larger number, but overall a place that I would like to revisit!
Impromptu dog walk, on a lovely sunny afternoon drawn us in for a drink, after looking at the NEW menu we decided to have a bite to eat, an so glad we did, it looked amazing an tasted just as good. Nice friendly welcome an will definitely be visiting more regularly
Had not been here for years and was a bit wary but we gave it a go. The pub has been refurbed and looks clean and bright. The only gripe is the menu (lunchtime) is quite limited which was disappointing. No desserts on there either and we were not asked if we wanted one so maybe they don't serve them. If you are an AA member you won't get discount as Greene King only supply their beer.
Not what it used to be. Much better with previous landlords! Update: changed hands again, good atmosphere, friendly service. Much improved with Heather looking after everything, recommended for a meal and drinks.
Me and my boyfriend had a very enjoyable afternoon at the mary rose .lager kept very well .I had fish and chips got to say the attention to detail was spot on and my dog enjoyed the beer garden also would definitely recommend well done xx
Staff are amazing an fabulous food what more do you need definitely going back
A very clean and friendly place...service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious, and a menu that had a good choice of vegetarian, vegan and meat dishes.Would visit again.
