If you’re looking for fresh mussels and oysters then this is the place. Very friendly atmosphere and great service. Interesting variations of mussel dishes but the classic is my favourite. Everything tastes very fresh and clean and makes for guilt free dining that doesn’t right you off for hours after.

Amazing food, an absolutely faultless seafood menu!
We had 6 oysters between us, which came with a red wine shallot vinegar. Big, juicy oysters! So tasty and the shallot vinegar was the perfect accompaniment!
We also had the seafood board, which was great value. Although it was £32 between 2, it was more than worth it! MASSIVE mussels, the biggest I’ve ever seen!
Great value for money all round and excellent seafood in a characterful, relaxed restaurant with great service. Would recommend to anyone!

Great cocktails, tasty meals and really really lovely staff. Always clean with a great decor too, and so handy for the city centre!

A good spot to drop in on for mussels, served in a variety of ways. The standard sized portion is generous unless you are feeling very hungry or have a significant craving. There are some good local beers available to which went down well with the mussels, the Chester Pilsner especially!
This is a stop with some regular, local fans and it definitely catches its fair share of tourists as well. Worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious meal tonight in Moules a Go Go - despite turning up 90 minutes early for our booking (we were far travelled & starving!) the manager fitted us in no problem. Lovely food, good wine and friendly staff - childs menu was superb too. Would highly recommend.
We had halloummi fries, Sri Lankan chicken curry and sticky toffee pudding - 5 stars!

Went there on a Saturday and the staff were really fast to find us a table considering how busy it was. The service was really good, always really nice and friendly without being intrusive. We got the seafood board for £30 was it was really good value for money. The calamari on the board were fantastic and a big portion, the mussels were super nice and fresh. On the board we had the kimchi and gochujang mussels which didn't taste much of the kimchi but was still absolutely fantastic. For dessert we got a creme brûlée which was also cooked to perfection. Safe to say it was the first but not the last visit.

Absolutely love this place. Have been a couple of times. Very good quality mussels and lovely cooking. Different styles but all very good. Staff were chatting on first floor so keep another customer waiting for a while to pay bill. Fresh oyster too.

Called in as passing on a day out in Chester
We were greeted by attentive staff shown to our seats and given a little time to choose drinks
Food was order and came out within 10 15 mins and it was hot tasty and delusions we had muscles oysters gluten free bread cheese and olives and chips
It was quite busy seem to be quite large parties in little loud but not to the point it distracted you as a couple
Would definitely recommend

I went the the restaurant on Saturday 16 June it was a race day in spite of the busy time the staff where absolutely fantastic the service was brilliant i was on a hen party of 22 we had chosen the party menu amazing choice the food was mouth watering. All meals came out together and where hot and no mistakes we had a fussy eater within the group the staff catered for her no problem despite what she wanted wasnt on our menu.. moules a go go Thank you for an amazing evening a contributing to my sister hen party being very successful. I would 100% recommended this restaurant and will definatly be going back .

This restaurant was recommended to us (although I had doubts at first as I am vegetarian). My other half loves seafood so we gave it a go. On arrival we were offered a table in the window which was fantastic. The lunch menu was excellent and the vegetarian choice was great. 3 course lunch for £15.50 was excellent value with all 3 courses being delicious. Drinks menu was very varied too. Staff were very friendly and attentive but not too much. We will definitely return and recommend to others.

Nice place, nice staff, lovely pate starter but unbelievably awful mussels. Small shells but maybe that is the size of a Welsh mussel, I really don’t know, however the meat inside barely existed. In many shells there was only the shrivelled hinge bit. Sadly they should never have been served and to blame the time of year/spawning does not come into the equation. Management should vet these bivalves and, if they are deemed to be very tiny when spawning, know just when they must stop offering them to diners. Give me Scottish mussels every time. Never had a failure with a Scottish be it Morrison’s to steam ourselves, Mussel Inn/s in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Cafe Rouge in many area , ordinary pubs or in many of the other other venues we have eaten them.
We love mussels and have often harvested our own abroad or from Cornish rocky beaches but this sad offering did the mussel no favours at all. Sorry Moules a go go but you made a misjudgement here.
Paid up, left a reduced tip for the waitress but not happy.

This is an amazing eatery. Wonderful atmosphere with friendly helpful staff! The food is tasty and plentiful. Moules In bacon and leek - exquisite! I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant! Only wishing the restaurant was closer to home. Thank you 😊 for making my evening such an enjoyable night in Chester!

Went to Chester on a last minute date night from Yorkshire, asked loads of people for recommendations for somewhere to eat and of course they told us about the big chain restaurants - lucky for us they were fully booked and we stumbled on moulles a gogo, was not disappointed. Had 3 courses, round of drinks, bottle of wine for under £100, the chowder was to die for as was everything else, would definitely recommend. Thanks for looking after us, we were left alone to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Our first visit today, definitely won't be our last, service was excellent and was one of the best meals we've had in a long time - the salmon fish cakes are to die for !

Only our second visit to these premises since the move from Watergate Street, but really good again. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, well looked after by staff, good food and at a good price. Our first visit to Cuppin Street was only a few weeks ago, so we came back again soon. It will not be long until our next visit!
