Invited our friends for my husbands birthday and it didn’t disappoint. This was only their 2nd visit and they were impressed, particularly as he is a retired chef! We loved it as usual - our favourite place to eat in Chester.

French bistro eating at it's best. This is a lively restraurant just outside of the northern city walls. The food is always excellent and they do offer many good lunch and mid-week deals. Chez Jules often doesn't allow table bookings except for large groups, though otherwise it is a real pleasure to go there.

Wendy enjoyed her food especially the vegetables and the sauce with her sea bass which was cooked superbly. I had a huge duck breast and experimented with frogs legs. All topped off with a delightful chenin blanc. Portion sizes are generous and food is of a good standard. recommended especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. Ssanque!

Fantastic value lunch menu, £8.50 for two courses. We had the calamari and chorizo salad and the black pudding, bacon and onion with mustard vinegrette to start and the mutton tagine and the salmon fillet for our main. With a half bottle of claret for £7.50 and a chocolate marquis with prune sauce it was a near-perfect meal. Service was also friendly, attentive and helpful. Honestly couldn't find fault.

...the food was of a very high quality considering the cost, as were the fresh ingredients, while the atmosphere in the restaurant, busy as it was, proved one of the best I’ve ever experienced.

Do not miss this one. If Restaurants were football - this is Champions League. Visited last night (not the first time) for a table for one front window. The £29.95 Tuesday offer plus a beer. So with the 'tip' incredible value for £39 in relation to the quality of food/service. This Resto never fails to disappoint. The French onion soup is killer, The Seabass with risotto & veg was wonderful. I can not fault. Do not default salt and pepper the food..its not needed! The staff are very friendly & the Head Chef/kitchen obviously runs like clockwork to achieve the covers. It was very busy and great atmosphere. Well done to all involved. 6 stars ******

I don’t really post reviews and I’m a fussy eater but this restaurant was incredible. Starters of the French onion soup and chicken terrine was gorgeous. Mains of beef bourguignon with potato gratin and veg and Salmon with herb risotto were out of this world. Service was equally as fabulous. Highly recommend. 5*!

Do yourself a favour and book a table on Tuesday! Their offer is absolute value for money. £29 starter, main, and a bottle of house wine (not bad!) for person!

I ordered the chicken bacon leek with cream it was fantastic. Excellent vegetables too. My wife ordered a crepe she was very impressed too. We'll definately go back soon

Food was excellent. Very good value and exceptional in taste. Definitely must. Went back again for lunch. Seabass exceptionally cooked.

Been goin here for years and always nice when I go.. Quick service even on a Friday evening.. staff are friendly. Good food for affordable prices.. the pan fried red mullet is so tasty. Clean establishment. Very nice
