The best paddleboarding spot! We paddled from Eccleston to the restaurant and left the paddleboards on the lawn whilst eating dinner, very safe and secure and a gorgeous location. The staff were brilliant and very professional and didn't mind us being a tad soggy! The food was really good value and tasted amazing - we highly recommend the pizzas. Only downside was we weren't allowed to eat on their outside balcony in the sunshine, but I know this would mean a lot more pressure on the staff. Overall a lovely evening spot for paddleboarders and diners alike!

First time here and wont be the last. A spontaneous booking whilst catching up with family. Lovely restaurant and setting over looking the river Dee. Food was delicious and staff and service was great-they were very attentive!

A great location especially in the summer where views of the river and meadows make a great backdrop. Menu has something for everyone and nice portion sizes leave you satisfied. Wednesday is a very busy time with 50% off pizza, pasta and mains. Nice wine selection without the sting that some places charge. Staff very attentive without being overbearing. Very friendly from entering to leaving. Booking is advised especially Wednesday's

The food, both choice and quality is outstanding. The staff are very welcoming, also very accommodating. Lastly the restaurant itself is superb, overlooking the Dee, try and get there for a sunset!

The restaurant is is located right on a meander of the river Dee, a very nice location.
Split level dinning, with glass panels to take advantage of the views. Entrance right on the road, with limited parking. We visited on a Saturday at 12:30, at this time it wasn't too busy, and staff were polite, service good. We enjoyed a simple vegetarian pizza with salad. Good quality, with all vegetables cooked just right. Coffee good, at at right temperature

Excellent meal, not badly priced, lovely location backing onto the river Dee.

The staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming, I’ve even had them hang up the phone on me before now. We’ve given them a number of ‘second chances’ each time we say never again!! But this time it’s the last!!!
What on earth is the point in having that beautiful garden if you only serve food on the top entry level of the restaurant!? We arrived, the waitress was very off hand, the place was unbearably hot and sticky only to be told that we couldn’t get a drink or even a pizza outside! The pizza oven is on the same level and we wanted to eat, to serve it where they wanted to they had to come up stairs!!!
We had a very disappointed 3 year old with us who we’d promised pizza, but she’d have melted in the heat inside it was like a greenhouse.
Until the place changes it’s attitude or management we won’t be back.

All in all a very mixed experience .
I will relate the best , then the worst.
A fabulous setting on the River Dee with a lovely tiered garden and tables with umbrellas . We were fortunate to get a table in the shade as it was so hot , then we were given a table directly overlooking the river without any fuss from the staff.
We only waited around 10mins for staff to request our drinks along with our food options.
However, things went from bad to worse. Firstly , only one meal arrived and 3 other meals were not brought at all . When the staff came to clear we asked where the other meals were. She was mortified and scurried off to tell the manager . Finally, our meals arrived with the explanation they’d thought the 1st meal was a starter . When it was actually a ‘small’ meal .
I had asked for the spagbol but it was only warm not hot and was not offered Parmesan. I asked could they heat it up and they obliged readily. We declined dessert and requested coffee
They had not supplied any sugar or milk which we also had to ask for.
We complained about all the issues and the manager came to ask what we wanted . We asked for drinks and he was extremely kind enough to supply them free of charge . Overall, the young and extremely inexperienced staff were very friendly and very polite . It just seemed chaotic with nobody knowing what they were doing . However, the weather, the garden setting and the gorgeous venue all made up for a glorious afternoon . With more attention to detail , fully trained staff and full restaurant etiquette this beautiful delight would be outstanding.

Watching the sun go down over the back drop of Chester with the breaking red sky as dusk settled made the romantic meal at this restaurant even more special. The food and service was first class and must be in the forefront of your mind if you want to book a special place for that special person.

Just wanted to say thank you for a really lovely meal, we had a fabulous time. The food was excellent and the service fantastic nothing was too much trouble for all the staff.
We really appreciated you bringing my two year olds food out quickly so we could relax while we waited for our food. It was those little things that make life easier when eating with a hungry toddler.
Thanks again for making my birthday so special.

Had lovely afternoon at Et Alia, called in for a drink on the stunning terrace and ended up staying for dinner, lovely staff, excellent service and best ever Lasagne and rocket salad

Food was great as usual, but the service was poor! My wife and I had been looking forward to our first meal out together after having a baby and thought there would be nowhere better than here. It took around 20 minutes for someone to take a drinks order and then after our meal we had to get up and go and find someone for a dessert menu as we felt were forgot about! We were put on a small table under the stairs by ourselves, maybe the service would be better if we were seated more centrally in the restaurant. We payed the bill with no questions but only afterwards noticed a £8.70 service charge for a table for 2 people, I feel it should be up to me to tip based on the service I received not something that the restaurant assumes I will pay regardless!

We attended this evening for a birthday meal . To start with the food we wanted and came for you unfortunately did not have . What Italian restaurant does not have lasagne ! You also then did not have any Peroni left . If this wasn’t bad enough , you then got our order wrong when the food arrived . We were not offered any Parmesan for our pasta dishes either .This is not the first time we’ve been and our orders have been wrong or you’ve not had a lot of food left available.

Service was very poor and slow. Food didn’t come out at same time for everyone. Manager very stressed shouting at staff and shaking his head when we complained. Steaks were cold by the time they brought out chips that we asked for several times. The staff were very apologetic and not there fault they were lovely. Manager came and apologised at end of evening and offered free coffee. Would not book a party of ten here again! No Xmas party atmosphere or crackers on table. To work out toilet taps you need to be a genius. Go and try!

Gorgeous place, VERY fast service even when it was very busy on a Saturday night, the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been too. I would highly recommend, make a reservation beforehand as it gets busy.

Ate here tonight and had high expectations but left hugely disappointed. I found the staff to be rude, the service slow and the food not very nice. When asked for water you had no jugs! When asked for lemonade you had none?! Beer was warm, coke was flat, you gave us desert menus but didnt come back to take an order... I could go on.
Would not go back. Shame as the restaurant and location are stunning.
