Down with friend from Scotland and had Double Gloucester steak and ale pies and is one of the nicest pies I have ever had. Guy behind the bar was brilliant and very helpful. Didn't catch his name but his hair was a cool shade of green.

I can't comment on food as I was there for the ale. However the menu did have plenty of choice at reasonable prices. What I did notice is the pub has had an extensive revamp. Inside it is bright and has a more welcoming feel to it. The range of ales is excellent and prices are also very good. Service is good and located directly opposite the railway station it is easy to find. Worth a visit

A lovely place close to the railway station to hang out and wait. They have a lovely beer garden and the food is delish! Download the app for easier order. The service is fast. They do double and triple burgers. The burger comes with a meal deal, however, it only gets counted in the last page of check out so don’t worry. It can get a bit noisy and loud in some spots specially when seatings below the speaker. Their servers and waiting staff are nice and helpful

Quant pub and beer garden in Chester across from the Queen Hotel. Great selection of craft beer and cask on tap. The chicken wings are absolutely fantastic and delicious. The chicken wings are double fried and sauced with plenty of flavor. The Hot wings with Carolina Reaper & Black garlic sauce is so flavorful and packs plenty of heat that will creep up and stay with you for minutes after enjoying! Best extremely spicy wings I have tried across the world. 👍👍👍 The Maple BBQ wings are very flavorful as well if you can't handle the heat. The price is very reasonable and about 1/3 price vs the obnoxious inflation on wings pricing in US!

Met up with about 30 ex colleagues to play catch up. Only sat in the beer garden but choice of beers was very good with informed opinions offered from the bar staff. Really good all round and their toilets were spotless and well stocked. I will definitely visiting again. Top marks and a well deserved five stars. The bar staff also informed us of the loyalty cards for future use.

I frequent the Town Crier often, it is very welcoming and the staff from management down to bar staff and kitchen staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. The food is lovely and the drinks are very reasonably priced, I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in Chester, you won’t be disappointed. It has a fantastic outdoor beer garden which also accommodates televisions, as well as all the televisions indoor, great place to watch any sport

Had a day out in Chester and called in here on the way back to the train station. Good food, reasonably priced, good decent beers, good friendly staff and a really good atmosphere. We'll worth a visit.

Staff are lovely. We stated at a nearby hotel and went to the Town Crier 2 consecutive evenings. 2nd evening we were thinking of moving on to eat because the music was loud. Simple, went to the bar before ordering and asked if they could turn the music down, reply "of course, no problem ". Hence we stayed. Lovely atmosphere because of the staff attitude. Food was good and a great price. We loved that the portions were not huge. We even had a dessert because we had room.

I had the most delicious burger here I think I've had in my entire adult life - the bbq one with mac n cheese in it (sounds odd, but seriously, try it). The garlic hot sauce was absolutely deadly but delicious too. We only stopped here to wait for a train, but I'm glad we did!
