I can't comment on food as I was there for the ale. However the menu did have plenty of choice at reasonable prices. What I did notice is the pub has had an extensive revamp. Met up with about 30 ex colleagues to play catch up. Only sat in the beer garden but choice of beers was very good with informed opinions offered from the bar staff. Really good all round and their toilets were spotless and well stocked. I will definitely visiting again. Top marks and a well deserve
I frequent the Town Crier often, it is very welcoming and the staff from management down to bar staff and kitchen staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much bother for them. The food is lovely and the drinks are very reasonably priced, I would highly recommend a visit if you’re in Chester,

I like this pub, it's smack opersite the railway station. It has a welcoming feel to it. Food deals are good value, drinks a bit pricey. Sadly... If you look a little deeper, the furniture , especially the chairs are worn and dirty. Still a nice place, fantastic sunny beer garden.
