Went to watch the boxing and was pleasantly surprised how good it was .There are plenty of good screens and even though it was packed, it didn't feel like it and everyone had a good comfortable view.The sound was also turned up so all could hear and this is important but something a lot of pubs don't bother with.It was easy to get served and there was a great atmosphere.I will definitely go again and intend to eat there next time.Excellent.

Plenty of room for big crowds. It's near the uni so favourably cheap and fun. A group of 12 playing darts was a big thumbs up.

H- they have a new chef now (think his name was Josh) I had the 8oz rump steak
Perfectly cooked (medium rare for me) and about 5 onion rings and a big portion of chips

We stayed nearby for the Chester marathon. Thought it would be a nice place to refuel. Had two Sunday roasts for just under a tenner (for both!). Didn't expect much at that price but we were wrong. Though obviously not Michelin quality food, the roast potatoes were perfect and the amount of food on our plates made us wonder how they made a profit on them. Friendly staff and sport on the multiple tellys was good. Will definitely be calling in here again if we're ever in Chester.

This is the place to go when exploring England. And what better place to start than Chester!
Lovely accommodation, excellent service and beautiful food and drink service.
Just make sure you order before 9 on pizza night!

Very convenient to the Chester University campus. Has the prerequisite standard uninteresting beers that you'll drink anyhow, and plays loud music ( barely within reason) as you'd expect from somewhere frequented by students. Plenty of pub games available and enough seating that'll never be enough seating.

A good pub with lots to offer. They have a Dart board, multiple pool tables and lots of TVs showing sports coverage. Food is good and well priced, ideal for students!

Staff are nice, the rooms are lovely, the windows provide really good quiet from the busy roads. Very close to town, I'd say 5-15 minute walk depending on where you're going in town. Very old fashioned taste, tea and coffee, more than 1 pillow each! Tv, toilet with a shower, desk, mirrors, good value room all in all.

Had a really nice one night stay here.The bed was cosy and comfortable and room was clean and suited me. Everything was very satisfactory. I arrived late in the evening, but still parked my car on the carpark. Very pleasant all round.

Excellent value for money. Ignore the poor reviews, for £40 bed & breakfast in a pleasant, clean room with a good shower and TV I don't see how anyone could ask for more.

Had a great stay here for one night. Staff were brilliant, nothing to much trouble and very helpful. All the staff we met were very helpful and courteous . Breakfast was excellent. Would go back again.

Rooms are great too. Nothing special, but do the job if you just need a place to stay when you're visiting the area.

Spend a lovely evening here . Staff where very friendly. There was a pub quiz on and later on in the night the owner decided to give a free curry to everyone. Would definitely recommend .
