Exceptional staff, excellent food and drinks. The service from Louisa and Jess was friendly polite and very professional and that goes for all the staff. I would highly recommend coming here for a meal and a drink which is at a reasonable price and very well presented, the atmosphere is very relaxed.Parking is round the back of the premises, although there is parking on the side street.I might also add that it is a Free House .
All I can say is we were very Impressed.
The Steak was excellent and the Skate wing my wife had she said was excellent as well and the portions .
A nice pub in Chillington, a village to the east of Kingsbridge. Ate there with family, with a nice menu featuring dishes based on the availability of local food. Fish and chips uses fish available on the day, served with a vibrant pea purée. A pork dish was also on the specials from a local farm. A good choice of desserts including affogato (in Devon!). Good choice of local ciders at the bar. A car park is located behind the pub, and look out for it as the sign is easy to miss. Dogs are also welcome in the pub.
Fantastic welcoming atmosphere, with warm and attentive staff. We ate early evening and there was a lovely family vibe at that time.
There is a good selection of 3-4 case ales on tap, and the food is sensational. We had the house burger, and it was easily in my top 2-3 burgers of all time. Would highly recommend.
We're on a walking tour visiting from the States and we were fortunate to get a dinner reservation. We sat in the covered outdoor area which was very comfortable. We had the the vegetable chili and daily fish special - bass, mussels and white beans with autumn vegetables. The presentation was beautiful and the fish and mussels were cooked to perfection as were the vegetables. The chili was hearty and the spices were well balanced. Everything was simply delicious!
The attentive, cheerful staff made us feel very welcome. It was outstanding and I wish we could eat here again on our trip.
Evening meal here was just amazing!
Food was prepared with so much attention, staff were so friendly and knowledgeable and the meal was just sublime - so pleased we booked a table here and hope to return soon.
What a find - thank you for a wonderful family meal out.
It was nice second time, It's still lovely service... but the Tomahawk steak for second time wasn't the best. I still saying that restaurant have the best steaks in Devon. But next time I hope will be not like that.
I still can reccomend to anybody. It's still a very mice and friendly atmosphere there. (Pic' down there was the our first experience)
Excellent pub with hearty portions serving food from their own fishing boats and farm - hyper local! Warm and friendly service. Highly recommend

Wonderful evening in the Bear Den, outside space that is heated and twinkly with lights. Delightful waitress answered our recommendations about the menu and we were not disappointed. The main special was a feast of fish on fish with fish. (John dory). Dessert got a lot of nods of approval too (brownie). Great local produce and a top spot.
A nice menu using all locally sourced produce. Very nicely presented flavoursome food in this small award winning village pub.
Fabulous welcome at this village pub and restaurant. Staff really friendly and happy. We hadn't booked but got a table in the restaurant. Great menu, delicious food which was served beautifully. Will return again.
