We love this place, it’s one of the best pubs in Surrey for the food, the surroundings and the gardens for eating with friends, family and kids. They have a great garden with a climbing frame but also a big grass area for kids to play. The outdoor tables are set up well to face this area so mums and Dads can eat, drink and watch the kids. The food is very good, especially the meat. Only downside is there often aren’t enough bar staff working to get served and the small number working can get grumpy (because they’re clearly overworked!) but that’s a small gripe. It’s the perfect place on a sunny day !
Absolutely love this place! The food is fabulous and portion sizes are very generous for the price. The staff are always very polite and always on their toes to make sure we are looked after. I come here often with my other half as a casual night out together but we invited family to dine with us here as a new year treat and they couldn’t fault it at all, my mother being a vegetarian found the menu was not limited at all in what she could include as sides and loved the portobello mushroom burger. We will certainly be back to see you soon!
We had a family celebration for 24 here during a really busy Sunday service. Our dedicated waiter ensured we had everything we wanted. The food, some from the carvery, some from the a la carte menu, was all delicious. The children loved the play area after we had eaten. We had room 2 for the night which was clean and comfortable. We anticipated some noise from the diners below but didn't hear a thing except a small amount of traffic. Definitely worth the trip from Devon!
We stopped off for the Sunday carvery. I don’t think I’ve tasted nicer beef - it was lovely! We also enjoyed sitting outside in the beer garden, away from the busy restaurant inside. Good value for the quality of food we received. Recommended as a great place to get your Sunday roast. Staff were also very nice.
The BEST carvery in Surrey, the food is just amazing - very generous portions, incredible amount of choice and the venison stew is unreal! This really is great value for money in a lovely setting, with very accommodating staff. 10/10🌟
Lovely boutique hotel tucked away in the country. Beautiful room with a roll top bath. Perfect location for visiting the Silent pool gin distillery down the road.
Breakfast was also very tasty.
This review is for the restaurant only.
Have been here quite a few times. This particular visit was at the end of August for a business meal. It was so good that I had another business meal there the following evening.
The pub is beautiful. Bought and run by South Africans, you're getting the SA way of doing steak and barbecue. It's absolutely stellar. The steak is aged on the premises for 45 days. As part of the ordering experience you get to see the cuts of beef and select what you want. Good opportunity for them to upsell and we accepted nearly every suggestion. :-)
We ordered 750g of Porterhouse steak with half a rack of ribs. Garden salad on the side to make us feel like we were being healthy, and broccolini. I say that about the salad because we didn't eat much of it. And, to be honest, that was the only slight downside about the food as it didn't seem as fresh as all the other ingredients. Maybe we are the only people that ordered it. You come here for steak, after all. Speaking of which, the steak was done medium rare. You can see from the pictures how it came out. Absolutely mouth melting. The ribs were a fantastic combo and the fries...well, can't go wrong with fries.
The service was friendly, attentive and punctual. We were never rushed from the table. The Percy Arms is an incredible steak and barbecue restaurant set in an idyllic location without the London prices. And it's better than many steak houses I've been to in London. Highly recommended.
Had an amazing time. Excellent and attentive staff. Food was really good especially if you looking for some traditional South African cuisine. Rump steak was cooked to perfection and the best monkey gland sauce I have ever had.
Fantastic pub! Superb service and just beautiful food. Naren, who served us was lovely, especially with our 4 year old Daughter. We live in Suffolk but we will definitely visit again!
Visited for a family Sunday lunch with three OAPs.
Beautifully fitted out interior, cool and stylish with lots of tables yet plenty of space. Carvery was outstanding - lots of choice and plentiful portions. Staff were extremely helpful in accommodating elderly people with poor mobility. Service was faultless. Price for five people came in under £100 - very good value; we did not drink alcohol but all left happily fed.
Recommend - we will certainly return.
Excellent gastro pub , wonderful atmosphere, and a good varied menu to choose from. Also some dishes with a South African flavour. Great terrace outside partially covered , and a garden area too . Very helpful staff, they even offered me a sample of the drink I chose to make sure it what I was expecting, never experienced this level of service before. And the food is so well prepared, they really do know how to serve a wonderful meal. We had a great birthday celebration there. Highly recommended. Ja no well fine!
32 of us ate at The Percy Arms last Saturday, 16th September, at a special event. The manager was exceptionally considerate when we were late due to two members of the party suffering from heat exhaustion, telling us to relax as we were his guests. The staff were very efficient and the food was wonderful. I can’t praise the experience enough, and wish I didn’t live 200 miles away so that I could eat there more often
