Heavy rain and bad traffic in Chingford one weekday evening brought us to the door of La Baita...and we've been doing a bit of an Italian restaurant tour in the local area recently so we thought why not!
Just based on this one visit - La Baita beats all the other Italian restaurants we've been to in Wanstead, Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell, Loughton and Snaresbrook combined. We're definitely coming back.
Fresh food, really attentive staff, a great menu an interesting specials board and a friendly family run atmosphere.

Great food, but could be presented better. Bread, with dishes was just plain white. A selection would have been nicer.
Service was very good, staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Would definitely come again.

Lovely local Italian restaurant with good service and great food. Good choice of pasta and pizza dishes, together with starters and desserts along with a number of specials from the blackboard. Good value for money and good size portions. First time here for me and will definitely be returning. Booking recommended as very busy mid week.

Went here with my family, celebrating hubby’’s birthday. It was our first time, not sure why we hadn’t been before as it is very local to us. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service was first class. Will definitely go back 👍

I and my partner were looking to dine in a traditional Italian Restaurant and we found this “ little gem” in Chingford 😊
It was Friday night and we forgot to book a table. We went to Nostrano Restaurant, but were refused so we came here, and I’m glad we did. We were greeted by very polite and friendly gentleman and given a table ( restaurant was very busy) without booking.
Food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved my Tiramisu 😋 Service was great and attentive. Prices were also good.
All in all, we had a lovely evening and were fully satisfied with everything.
We definitely will be coming back and I am going to recommend
LA BAITA DA PIERO to my family and friends.

First time visiting this traditional Italian and was impressed. Service was attentive without being overbearing, food was tasty,especially the rib starter,and the atmosphere was relaxed. Good value and will be returning

Absolutely amazing! Food is 100% traditional and delicious! Food you crave for when feeling like Italian. The staff provide customer service and genuine passion that you just dont come across anymore. Tried it last week and immediately re-booked to bring friends. Special shout out to Silvio and his Sicillan friend he worked alongside tonight. (Sorry don't know to spell, but he was tall and handsome)
To top it off. I had a bad day and they listened and turned it around with kindness. They are busy and work their hardest

Wow!! The BEST Italian restaurant iv ever been to.....and I have been to italy!! Lol, first of all the staff (Silver and his companion, ever so sorry cant spell his name) are amazing, very attentive, always serve with a smile and never shy to crack a joke and entertain, also the chef is fantastic, just had white bait to strat which I have found is very hard to get right, followed by the lamb escalope in red wine a chilli.......I have came home still thinking about it!! Very traditional restaurant, ouzes authenticity!! Great atmosphere for couples, friends and families, keeps up the good work guys......I'll definatly be back 👍

Just lovely I had liver in wine to start calamari good bottle of red to follow black forest gateux homemade birthday cake and double espresso my wife had minestrone and veal Milanese.6 of us went we had a great time.

We have been going to the restaurant for just over 30 years. I know since I just had my 30th anniversary meal there with family and we had lunch there the day before our wedding. A family run restaurant, good quality products, cooked well, served by friendly, attentive and we'll informed staff. A gem to be loved and supported... And the food is excellent as well!!!!

Great service from all staff, beautiful welcome greeting and very attentive throughout the evening. Lovely little restaurant with very authentic, original decor. Small and cute tables with nice simple table clothes. Loved the experience at this place. Unfortunately the seafood risotto I ordered was bland, but it is a very difficult dish to cook. But the other dish, which was an escalope with spaghetti, was absolutely delicious!!! And I am sure the rest of the dishes on their menu are also very tasty!!
