Stopped by tonight on our way back from a day trail running in Wales. All we wanted was a nice hot meal with two previous places being booked up. Me and my parents are vegan, the waiting staff were amazingly helpful and accomadating, best roast spuds and parsnips I've had in a long time and they prepared us some awesome veg. Thank you for a wonderful meal
Too late for breakfast - too early for lunch but we chose from the carvery and boy, was it worth the wait.
It was lovely...no complaints at all.
Great service, great food, great price. Love it there...and will be returning !!
A party of 4 (plus a dog), 2 of us had large carvery, one had small carvery and one had chicken burger with a side of onion rings, and we shared some starters. All of the food was outstanding. (Try the black pudding, divine). The service was excellent and each staff member was polite and friendly. Plus as I mentioned above it is dog friendly so big plus. Will definitely return as we have relatives who have moved into the area and I can see this becoming a local haunt.
Our favourite place to come for a carvery as a family of 6. Nowhere else compares to the pheasant. The food is always so delicious and cooked well. Staff are really friendly and always check how the food is and if they can get you anything. Highly recommended if you're looking for a good roast. However, what I would say is they need better vegetarian options instead of the meat. The options aren't bad, but I would love to see a nut roast or something like that. Just an idea for the future.
After visiting a garden centre nearby, we were looking for a place for Sunday lunch. My partner found The Pheasant, so we decided to give it a go. We hadn't booked but were lucky to get a table. The carvery was excellent, even though it was quite busy the queue was small. All the food was lovely and hot. Service was great, were weren't rushed. Fully recommend here if you are passing by.
Great pub in Chippenham, attracting a complete range of ages.
My visit here is usually to catch up with colleagues after work for a drink, half of the venue is just a drinks bar with a range of seating. The other half is for the carvery/restaurant.
Full bar on offer, a range of lagers, ales, ciders, wines, and mixed drinks. They have a good selection of alcohol free beers and ciders, too.
The carvery is a really high point. Really good value food. Definitely reccomend for families and other large groups for a reasonably priced large meal.
The carvery was lovely, the only slight criticism was the meat was cut in big chunks and would have been improved by being sliced thinner ! Having said that, it was tasty and succulent. The veg was plentiful and a very good selection and the gravy, to die for !
The pudding we had was the sticky toffee with beer in it , unusual ,which we both thought spoiled the taste, it was a strong malty flavour.
The toilets were clean , but the dryer in the ladies wasn’t working and they could really do with a coat of paint !
The highlight were the staff who were all lovely, super friendly, helpful and a credit to the place.
The staff are always amazing and helpful and polite. The food is always lovely we have been a fair few times and we have never had a bad meal. I'm disabled and they are also there to help if I need it .
Just popped in here with my Running Club Les croupiers in Cardiff. The food was excellent and the service was also brilliant. Special mention to Melissa who was a lovely lady who put up with us all and the service was second. I highly recommend this Pub please support this local Charity and give Melissa a big tip when you pop in next. Thank you Apologies for the typos using dictation on my phone LOL. The business is still excellent so please pop in the food and the carvery is delicious
We went for a Xmas family dinner with over 20 people, I used crutches instead if my wheelchair. There were lots of other wheelchair users, but the disabled parking spaces were taken up. Kids really enjoyed the meal and especially the puddings. There was plenty of space for us to watch the world cup final.
Came for a Sunday lunch and it was lovely! The food was hot! Not warm like some other carverys. The meat was flavoursome and the best thing is all the food is local produce and you can taste the difference. I'm gluten free and the only reason I gave 4 stars is because they didn't have gf Yorkshire puddings or stuffing, otherwise it would've been 5! They have another gluten free menu and it has A LOT of choice.
Always a good service staff are kind and helpful. The food is also amazing I did intend on the carvery but I didn't release it didn't start till 5.30 so will intend on making the booking for a bit later next time .. the stake was nice but i think some veg should be added to the dish .. my little one who is one and a hath had the ham and egg with pees and chips and she really enjoyed it a big portion for her age but she eat most of it anyway so I think that's is a thumbs up from her .. I feel that the Alcohol-free range of drinks can be extended as a lot of people drive there for food so more choice needed. but on a hole venue is always clean staff well dressed and helpful so will eat there many more times to come
