Basic but good, tastefully decorated. Had the Mediterranean breakfast, slightly too spicy but very tasty. Service could be a bit faster but on balance I'd visit again. Big plus:they open early

We love this local cafe - from the food, service to lively buzzing atmosphere- everything is perfect. Added bonus: portions are generous and prices reasonable (we both ordered the yummyMediterranean breakfast). We'll be back very soon.
Me and my partner visited here for breakfast this morning, based on her prior (and first) visit here with their brother a couple of weeks back. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, which was great for me as I have sensory issues/anxiety revolving around noise (and too many people!)
I had the eggs royale with salmon and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! I've never had it before, but knew it to be right up my alley. Definitely recommend! Had my breakfast alongside a black americano that was smooth and full-bodied - not burnt - that went down very well.
I never dealt personally with the staff as such, but the speed of service was very prompt! Will definitely be returning in future, either for another bout of breakfast or their Sunday lunch!
The £8.99 Sunday lunch is to die for. Fantastic BIG roast, a cuppa, and dessert all for under a tenner. The roast lamb is deliciously cooked and they’re generous with their gravy. I normally get the smoothie alongside my meal to treat myself to a fruit or two. Small cafe but there’s an upstairs too which is a little quieter. I’ve only ever eaten the roast but every other diner’s food looks amazing too.
Friendly Lovely staff. Food is amazing 👏 so delicious . Portion are huge 😍 and not expensive at all . Food quality is on the sky .I am happy to be there everyday if I can .I always bring my friends there when they are visiting me .

Lovely café, service and food is brilliant with plenty of vegetarian options. Veggie musakka, halloumi kebab and baklava are some of my favourites. Clean too. Will be coming back again and again whenever possible

The best breakfast in Chistlehurst and beyond in my opinion.
Great service gets you a large plate of freshly cooked food.
Many different choices but I have to go big - double sausage, bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms, toast. Black pudding and bubble are options.
Healthy stuff too, but this breakie keeps you going all day, so in the end, healthy 😀😀
Fantastic family run cafe. I had Chestnuts cater for my daughter's birthday party for 40 people. Ali and team did a brilliant, brilliant job. Generous portions, fresh, flavourful food that impressed everyone! Ordered the Mezze platters which contains a variety of food - halloumi cigars, stuffed vine leaves, falafals, onion salad, hoummous, olives, etc and some of the best bread we have ever had! Also, very well packaged which made serving very easy. There was so much food, each of the guests took some home, much to everyone's delight. Highly recommend Ali's fantastic Cafe!

We had a party recently and a friend of ours recommended using The Chestnut as we wanted to save time on preparing all the food ourselves.
We couldn’t have been happier with the food that was delivered to us! Honestly, we spent about £8 per head and we had enough food left for lunch the next day with other friends that couldn’t make it to the actual party.
We had a mixture of things, like stuffed vine leaves, couscous, houmous, onion salad, Greek salad, potatoes, olives, falafel, lots of fantastic bread and my favourite, a rolled pastry with feta inside that had honey drizzled over the top. They were amazing, I could have eaten a whole tray of those to myself!!
The whole service was brilliant from beginning to end starting from the help and advice they gave on what to order, to delivering on time and finally the guys even help set up the dishes.
If I could give them more than 5 stars I absolutely would.
